New feedback from Outlook.com (React)
While I'm sure the new safelinks.protection.outlook.com links are worth it, they also "hide" the original URLs in Outlook.com emails.
Chrome shows URLs at the bottom of the screen when you mouse over a link, so that we can identify what we click on BEFORE we click.
You have now made it much harder to check by escaping the original URL and combining it with safelinks.
The original URL is no longer available at a glance as you now have to perform a mental "unescape" in order to read it.
While safelinks is a step forward in security I'm sure, the obscuring of the original URL is a backward step!
Please include a feature in Outlook.com so that the original email URL is easily seen somewhere on screen (html title tag? in a box somewhere?).
You, Microsoft et al, are always behind in fighting phishing / spam / malware / etc, so you need to keep allowing your users to check links BEFORE we click on them!
Thanks for reporting this! We have added two features. On Hover you can now see the original URL. Secondly you are able to turn the feature off if you prefer not to use these protected links.
Hope this helps
