Keep it simple.
Email isn't for emojis & bright colors. Keep it clean and simple. There's too much noise everywhere else in the world.
I use my personal email to communicate with friends and family. I don't need to be entertained and over stimulated by gimmicks. I just want to send a message and easily find the ones I've received.

First off, I want to thank each and everyone of you for using Outlook.com and for taking the time to provide feedback on the new experience.
I know that a few different topics got merged down into this suggestion, so I wanted to offer some broad guidance on how you might configure the new experience to get it to look more like what you want.
Lets start off with the feedback about not wanting the bright colored circles, emojis, and joyful animations. All of these can be disabled. Click on the gear in the top right hand corner, this will load the quick setting pane. From here first disable the Sender Photos. This removes the colored circles with initials.
Then continue to scroll down and select view all Options. In this options page select Compose and Reply. In this page look for Joyful animations. turning this off will eliminate the animations that pop up when you see words like Congrats, or Happy Birthday!
Finally I wanted to offer some tips for folks that don’t like the reading pane or conversation view. Again back on the main page click the gear in the top right. On this quick settings pane you might try disabling the different options. Start with Reading Pane. This will put your mail back into the traditional single line view and when you click on the message it opens in the full screen.
Secondly you might try disabling conversation view if you don’t like everything in a merged format.
Hope this helps, and please keep the feedback coming!
Thanks
David Los

Oh and it is more garish. Too much distracting stuff. Please leave it looking more basic and don't be tempted to tart up something that is already quite functional!

The changes you made to e-mail are just awful. We don't need colors, this looks like a carnival. Keep it black and white and simple: do you remember "kiss" ?

Will you PLEASE STOP screwing around with Outlook!!! The changes you made are not helpful to me and make it much more tedious to find what I am looking for..... simple is better. Tell your programmers to apply their talents to other apps...and leave outlook alone!!!!

I think the envelopes on the Outlook Beta on the select an item to read page should be coloured no matter what them you're on.

Why don't you simplify your system instead of making fancy and frustrating changes? For example , I now cannot find my sent mail or indeed any of my mailboxes.

The new versions is colorful but otherwise worthless. The ONLY good feature is the separation by date

Keep it as simple and the options visible. Reduce the color objects as much as possible.

This is awful, I can't find anything and it's really hard to use. I can't even work out how to scroll down the page, and after 3 weeks without internet access I've got a lot to scroll through. Please return it to the simple layout it had before: it needs to be functional or what's the point?

This beta version was obviously created by a group of insecure millennials with too much time on their hands. They want to impose
their coloring books & crayons on everyone else. I am already exploring setting up a g-mail account. -

Gmail is the best example of functionality and simplicity. If Microsoft want's to turn Outlook.com an Gmail competitor it's must hear the users about the things that most care: Keep the Outlook simple. Period. Clean the user interface: make it fast and stop to cluttering the interface with things that the user never will use.

Vamos manter os e-mails mais simples como antigamente. Uma questão de costume e mais fácil de trabalharmos e coordenar meus serviços. Mas, valeu a experiência.

It beggars belief they can think inferring people are idiots and need 'walking through'their useless system is a sensible approach. Patronising prats at Microsoft.

Unable to open emails in a separate tab, now finding Outlook Unuser friendly, over complicated to use as an organisation you need to adopt the principle of 'KIS' Keep It Simple' .

I agree. Just fix what's broken. Don't take away useful features in order to provide less important ones.
