Allow an option to disable Safelinks
The safelinks should be an option. I prefer to hover over the link and determine if it is junk
I just wanted to send a quick update. You should all be seeing this setting now in the Outlook.com options.
Look for it in the Premium dashboard.
Hope it helps
Safe links is horrible. Not only does it take 20 seconds for every link I click to do anything but half of the time they don't even work. Give us an option to turn them off!!!

'safelinks' is awful! When I see a suspicious email, I hover the URL to see if it's legit. Safelinks somehow thinks it would be a good idea to hide that from me! So I have to click on a link to reveal... BAM Now I'm at a scam site.

False Positive On Safe Link
I recently received an e-mail from a trusted sender with a link to a survey (all powered by ConstantContact). The link was flagged as dangerous in Outlook.com, and it is not. There is no way to open the link in Outlook.com.
Is there any setting in Outlook.com that I can use to deal with this?
The link does not raise flags in other e-mail clients (as reported to me by the sender, and from me opening the link from another e-mail client).

"Logg inn" link fra Klarna virker ikke pga. safelinks fra outlook. Hvordan kan jeg skru av safelinks?
I am offline.
Get rid of these safelinks URLs. Not only do they destroy the ability to see where the URL was supposed to go, they have the added bonus of being oh so pretty. Couple in the fact that they look like a phishing scam (I recognize that they supposedly are not) but the do work like one (hijack the link you were intended to get and get sent to another site altogether). Am not happy. Get rid of these abominations.
The Safe Links thing that has been instituted is making it completely unable for me to open links.

Since late october 2017, you enabled ATP safe links protection on my email account. I do NOT want this, and I want you to turn it off. You did not give me the choice to enable or disable it, and there is ************** to disable it other than writing to you. Way to go with the lack of usability.

Please turn off safelinks. I cannot access the links in my email: "This site cant be reached
eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com took too long to respond."
I get this but it is slow and even more confusing than the current behavior.
For instance, I received a link to a project on github. Clicking that link from a test mail I sent to myself from/to a different provider allows me to get to github in <1 second when I click that link.
With the safelink url, it takes about 1 second to contact the safelink server, then about another 1-2 seconds to actually open the url.
If I get enough links (and I do), these seconds start to add up and slows me down enough to be frustrating.
In other words, this new feature is frustrating to me.
There either needs to be a safe list of sites (like github, etc...) that bypass that filter or an option to turn it off.
Also, some of my friends that have low bandwidth connections hate the bloat that this causes for financial reasons - MS, you are actually creating a financial burden on some of my friends by altering the product of yours that I use. That is not fair.

I would like to disable safelinks on my outlook account, it is a really bad feature and I don't want it.
Instead you could add a button "check this link" next to the link, but do not modify the existing link.
Please give me a way to TURN OFF Safelinks!!!
PLEASE PLEASE!!! Let me turn off the **** safe links thing. It takes so long to open links that I already know are trustworthy. Plus it's screws up the readability of the email. I would understand if it was just for email that lands in the junk box, but it's saturating my trusted senders and emails i've allowed to go into my inbox.
I can't say I really like the "Safelinks" feature as it's implemented. It used to be that I could hover over a link and determine myself if I want to visit the site.
Many times the link is not to the original website domain, i.e., it would be to amazone.us or amazon.co with an obvious spelling difference and I'd know it's a bad link and not to click on it.
Now the outgoing link address is obscured by the outlook safe links mechanism and I have to trust Outlooks determination of whether the link is legit or not. Since easily about half of my junk mail box is from legitimate sites, it's very difficult to know if the email is legitimate and now that the links are obscured it makes it hard for me to determine this my self.
A menu item or button that I could click to "show original links "would fix the problem.
Dear customer support,
I kindly claim to disable the Advanced Security Feature (Safelinks) for my account with immediate effect!
Please escalate to the Outlook.com Engineering Team in case. I expect confirmation within the next 24 hours.
I'm refering to your statement "contact our customer service team via in-product support to have them deactivate the features on your behalf": https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Advanced-Outlook-com-security-for-Office-365-subscribers-882d2243-eab9-4545-a58a-b36fee4a46e2
We do not want the Safelinks "service" and you should necessarily make it opt-in at least! Here's why: https://blog.tylerbickford.com/2016/06/16/microsoft-advanced-threat-protection-is-a-disaster/
Thanks in advance, kind regards
Hi, I'm Office 365 user and I recently noticed that each and every link in each and every mail that I receive through outlook.com service is changed, and now points to safelink.protection.outlook.com (or something similar). I don't want that. I want that disabled. I tried to find where to disable that unwanted "feature" and found that the only way to do that is to contact the support. I found that situation very unusual, to put it mildly.
I'm in the process of switching my entire email from gmail to outlook.com and step like these makes me rethink my decision.
If you need any more info from me, please contact me as soon as possible. Just disable that "feature" as soon as possible.

Again still waiting for moderator approval but you allow users to fall victim to phishing scams.
Just got a email from ****** Media saying I need to update my account...

please please please please please please please please stop masking URL in emails unless your going to block them this is 100% a phishing scam and you allow it to get though :(
at minimum allow power users to look at the original URL
For years I floated the mouse over the link to verify if an email is phishing or if it is valid. With the ATP Safelinks Protection, you have to decode the URL first. I would like to see an option added to the right click on a URL to see the decoded URL.
You can use http://www.o365atp.com, but you have to copy and paste the URL in.
