I want the ability to turn off "Suggested Contacts" when I start typing in the TO field.
Most of the emails I send are one-offs to business addresses and customer service. I do not want outlook.com to remember/suggest any of addresses to which I have sent email that are not in my contacts...you took away this preference to not remember which used to be in "Advanced Privacy Settings."

Yes we agree. We don't need one off email addresses saved in our contacts.
It looks like it used to be a simple step to stop this happening.
Can you make that possible again.
It seems not all updates/ newer versions are better than the previous. -

As indicated below, this is a terrible feature for any mail program and needs to be removed as soon as possible. It should be the users option on whether or not to store email addresses on their systems.
This option does only one thing, "IT CLUTTERS YOUR EMAIL PROGRAM WORTHLESS **** AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SORT THROUGH EVERYTHING WHEN ONE WANTS TO SEND AN EMAIL."
It definitely needs to be done away with.

Totally agree. This is a horrible feature that not only has no purpose, it causes chaos and confusion in my email correspondence. Why on earth won't they let us disable it?

It would be great if we could block the autocomplete function only for external email addresses.

Let me 1) clear Suggested contacs, and 2) add the option to turn Suggested contacs off completely, which includes that Microsoft should stop auto-saving e-mail addresses. Thank you.

Suggested contacts? More like microsoft wants to keep my data saved, otherwise you would give me an option to delete them. All previous useless and misspelled contacts keep showing up and I'm gettin ******.
cheers

There needs to be a way to disable this feature. Not only does it capture every address that mail is sent to, it also captures every address that mail is received from.
This makes it particularly useless as it quickly captures addresses from mailing lists, automated support responses, junk mail, spam, etc.
I want a way to turn this off completely. I don’t need suggestions about where to send mail.

want to turn off the autocomplete for suggested email addresses. They show up even after I have x'ed them away from the suggestion list. They are not email addresses on my contacts list.

Maybe this tweet can solve the problem temporarily. https://twitter.com/hb858/status/1193914387603443712?s=21

blocked email address returning on suggested contacts.
Awhile ago a person known to me threatened me in some serious aspects. As a result, one of my actions was to block every avenue of him contacting me. This included his email address.
His email address continuously appears in my "Suggested Contacts" - I press the X button beside it every single time but it continues to reappear. I have cleared the cache on my PC, used different computers, run a cleaner through the pc, contacted support, ensured the address is removed from my contacts list and is definitely on the blocked list - you name it, I've done everything possible to make it so I don't have to keep seeing this persons name.
Despite this, I am constantly reminded of this person every, single time I go to compose an email because his name just keeps propping up. This constant reminder means I am never actually able to forget a series of traumatic events which continues to be something I am working hard to heal from.
I reported it to the support and their response was: I do apologies that this feature is not available for now, some customers filled up the survey link that we have and requested to have these additional features.
I can't believe that I don't even have the correct controls available to circumnavigate my own email account anymore.

Instead of an arbitrary list of 'auto complete' email addresses, Outlook should have an option to match text entered to contacts automatically.
For those with a shared team or company-wide contact lists, Outlook should match text entered to shared contacts too.
This would make sending email easier.

I don't want previous contacts to be suggested automatically as there are people with similar names. So far outlook.com does not allow me to delete these automated suggestions which are causing problems. I have looked everywhere for a way to "forget" cached names.

There should be an option to turn it on or off. It should never be mandatory.

Suggested Contacts appearing each time you send an email should be an option and not mandatory. Please immediately remove it. It is a nuisance, we do not want anyone especially in public venues observing (by looking at our computer screens or cell phones) who we are sending emails to as a result of suggested contacts.

How do I find "Advanced Privacy Setting" on Outlook Live (Hotmail)?

'Suggested contacts' now seems to include anyone who might have been copied into any email I ever received, even though I have deleted that email permanently. This is an APPALLING 'feature' (aka BUG), it is totally unsafe, and constitutes a complete lack of privacy for me or the contacts in question. Please REMEDY URGENTLY!
