Permit different display names for different aliases
Currently, if I have two email aliases firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com, they share a display name that recipients see. Thus, if my name is Alice, it doesn't really matter which alias I send from: my recipient always sees Alice.
It would be helpful to be able to associate alternate display names with different aliases. Thus, same account, and same inbox, but different pseudo-identities.
AGREE. I sometimes assist with questions and things on some social media sites, but I do NOT want these random people I'm contacting to know who I really am, as that's personal and I'm not helping them from a personal capacity, but for the sites I help with. I created an alias to help with this, but it still shows my dang real name. Friggin useless to have an "alias" with my real name on it. Please change this so that you can assign a "display name" to each separate email under your account.
I agree. This is a security flaw. It needs to be fixed.

This, so many freaking times! What's even the point of aliases if you always reveal your actual name with them. It's absurd. If you want one alias for anonymity and another for serious communication, you just can't have it with Outlook... Not to mention you absolutely have to use name and surname. Like, why? Why not just single name or nickname?

Managing family emails. I manage family emails but the display name stays as mine. Would be good if recipients see the family name, so can it be made this can be changeable
I was excited when I saw I could create an alias to connect to my MS account and use it to receive and send email. But then when I saw in outlook.live.com that it was not even possible to change my sender name for none of my expedition addresses, I was like: "What's the point to have an alias if I still get identified by the receiver as my MS account name?"
Alias is currently a useless feature since not completed with basic settings.
I can't seem to change the name recipients see. When I look at my profile, it says the name I want it to, but then when I send Emails, people still see some random name I put when I was 15!
