the sweep option disappears when search results are displayed.... so, if i realise i have lots of emails from one address and i want to set a rule to sweep them... how can i use sweep if it's not there?
The SWEEP menu should appear for a message that is returned from a search. An opened message returned by a search does not have a Sweep menu option (it should be between Junk and Move to).

This would also be useful for all of the emails that come from slightly different senders. Examples
I want to create a sweep for all of these seller emails from amazon at once by searching for "Amazon Marketplace", selecting all, clicking sweep and setting a permanent folder for them to go into.
But I dont get that option, and there is no wildcarding available except in Rules but even that needs stupid keyboard hacks just to put "*email@example.com" because when I paste the "seller..." part, outlook,com "fixes" my entry and eliminates the asterisk I typed and wont let me edit it back in.
The outlook team needs to test this stuff out with mailboxes that are like _real world_ mailboxes and not using the minimum required to prove a code works.

This function would be so much more useful if it was accessible from the search pane. So many times I've found my emails build up after thinking a company I had previously swept started sending newsletters from a different a slightly different address.
Search & sweep would make inbox management so much easier!

I would use sweep a lot more if this was possible. Is it possible for someone to rename this to something like "Display Sweep option when search results are displayed"?
I can't believe this isn't a feature. As it stands, Sweep can only be used in real-time in a practical sense.
It would be nice if the sweep function could be used with resulting emails after an email search.
This needs to be a option...it would be very simple to add
I can't set sweep mails that I found via search. I have to scroll to find it then apply in the main view.

Please add a sweep-like rule option, so that a rule can be delayed by 10 days or make sweep a rule option. As it is now, I can make a rule to send a message from a specific sender to a folder, but then it never goes to my inbox and I never see it. I want it make a rule so that if I LEAVE it in my inbox for more than 10 days, THEN it goes to the chosen folder. This is a sweep option, but not a rule option.
Also, you could just make it possible to ADD a sweep in the settings just like you have ADD a rule. Right now there is now way to ADD a sweep from settings.
It would be nice to have sweeping capabilities within the search results window.

Sweep is one of the best features. I wish the option worked on searches.
Please allow a sweep rule to be set up from within a search results! It can only be done without a search at present, so impossible to set up unless item is very recent.
Search results do not show time, only date; time is needed. Search results do not allow a Sweep rule to be created from a selected result, which is often part of tidying up results to get a clearer result, or would be if I could do it.
Sweep doesn't have an acceptance button, just the options. Help is lacking similar capabilities
