Unable to move a folder out of a folder
The folders in the email tap: I was able to move a folder out of another folder. In last years outlook.com webmail, I was able to drag a folder to the folders to bring out a folder from a folder. I am unable to do that in the new outlook webmail. I can drag a folder into another folder. However, the new outlook.com webmail doesn't have a reverse.

In the folders section I have "Archive", "Conversation History" and now "Notes"(that does not work by the way). At the bottom it wants me to upgrade to office 365. There is now no room for my folders without scrolling. I do not use your folders since they came up long after I already had my folders named. Also please fix the problem of not being able to move our folders out of subfolder status. I accidentally moved a folder into another folder and now it is permanently stuck there. Thank you. B.

Accidently changed a main email folder into a subfolder. I can't change it back to be a main folder again. I used to do this - by clicking on the subfolder name and dragging it to "Folders" until it said "Move to Base".

Here is the case. I cant move a folder out of another one or move up/down related to each other. Shortly your folder moving experience over browser is terrible it really made me sad how microsoft could do such a mistake :(

I tried to move a folder out of my Favorites folder. It appeared my only option that pertained to my intent was "Remove from Favorites." I chose this option, believing it would still show up under "Folders" like the other folders in my Favorites folder. Instead, the folder and all its contents seemed to disappear altogether! I did a search for the folder and it was not found. I exited the internet and even restarted my computer, to no avail. I could not find it in the Deleted Items folder. No luck there either. WITHOUT ANY WARNING, some CRUCIAL documents appear to be GONE FOREVER. What is going on with Outlook? This is just one of many problems I have been having. Are you trying to just shut down Outlook altogether? If so, please warn me so I can take action to forward everything to gmail.

I can't believe they would remove such a standard basic feature such as being able to drag and drop folders. And this solution provided by Microsoft "If you accidentally make a folder a sub-folder, create a new top-level folder and copy all your email from the sub-folder to the new top-level folder" is a complete joke. What a farce.

This is so frustrating! More than once I've accidentally dragged a folder into another folder and there's no way to undo it or drag it back out!

"If you accidentally move a folder to become a sub-folder, create a new folder and copy all your email from the sub-folder to the new top-level folder."
This is Microsoft's workaround. This is stupid!! I have thousands of mails in the sub-folder. How do I move all of them to a new top-level folder? There is no function to do this. I have to do this batch by batch.. how long do you expect this to take me?
I can simply move the sub-folder out in the previous version.
If this version is so incomplete, pls bring back the slider to allow me to switch back to the older version. -

I'm also not able to move folders around. I've followed the directions in the Help menu and it doesn't work. Please fix.

I accidentally dragged a folder into another creating a sub-folder. I could not believe there was no easy way to drag it out. I had to create a new folder, move the items into that one, then delete the old folder. MS, this is messed up. Please fix this. P1 Bug.

in the previous version the subfolders could be converted into folders by dragging them to the root of the panel, in this new version no, re-implement it ...

The Classic version allows for the most preferred and efficient way to move a sub folder.....you were able to right click and assign it specifically to an existing folder. With Beta it's back to having to drag/scroll down through a multitude of folders and it lands in the wrong folder quite often....please return the right click feature!

How do you move a folder from sublevel to toplevel? Can't see how that's done in the new Outlook.com

Why did you get rid of the capability to move folders in the new Outlook? I don't want to make all of my folders Favorites just so I can move them. That defeats the purpose of having Favorite folders. Please bring this feature back.

hey guys. You've pretty much won me over now that my gmail and calendar are totally broken and useless. Ive been trying this outlook email out and im liking it as its kind of like gmail used to be. One sugestion ( ive just googled a work around) its nice to have the folders in the left pane in the order of ones choosing. You cant click and drag the folders unless tthey are added to favourites ( which is what ive done ).Maybe you could make the order of them easier to organise.Likeing plain user interface with minimal clutter. Just please please dont go like gmail and fill uup with sticky stars and stuff " to organise" we don;t need it!!

The "Move Folder" option needs to be restored. I don't want to make all of my folders "Favorites" just so I can move them.
