It looks like this has finally been implemented!! When creating an event under more options there's a small globe next to the time that lets you select the start and end timezones!

More than 2 years later and a feature I use regularly in google calendar still hasn't made it into outlook. I won't migrate without this functionality.

Searching for a guide on how to select the time zone for the start or end time results in a few threads that suggest this functionality did previously exist in the Outlook.com calendar. Please could you add it back. I don't fly very often but it would be nice to add the arrival (event end time) and return departure (event start time) times in the local time zone.

Calendar functionality is essentially useless for half the time for me, as my daughter is living in a different timezone, and I'm trying to set events in her time zone as well as mine, and flights to and from there. Please bring back the functionality that was there before!

Since it probably won't be fixed in time for travel early next week, I've exported events from Outlook.com calendar to Google. A bit of a nuisance, but not as much of a nuisance as missing a flight or a meeting.
Microsoft could take some lessons from Google. See how it handles time zones in particular and please do the same in the Outlook calendar.

Fix the calendar so that I can continue to make appointments in different time zones. When I set a different time zone for an appointment now, it just reverts back to my current time zone. It doesn't "stick".
This is unacceptable and makes the calendar useless for anyone who travels.
I'm referring to the web version. (The app is too basic for anything but checking current appointments.)
If that's too hard, give us the option to use the older version. It worked fine.

I've just been forced onto the new calendar and it is most disconcerting that the time zones are messed up. All my meetings set in another time zone next week have reverted back to my current time zone. I just tried to set up a new meeting. Every time I set the time zone it reverts back after save.
Can we please have the old and working calendar back.

You used to have the ability to set start and end timezones differently, then pared it down to only being able to set the timezone on individualy calendar entries, but now you removed timezones from the calendar completely?! Please bring back start and end timezones!
Why do you keep messing with what was working well? I'm a premium paying customer. If you keep taking features away, I'm going to stop giving you money!!!

With beta enabled, time zones cannot be viewed or edited. Would love to have this!

Yes time zone functionality is critical. In the classic version I could set my favorite time zone (California / New York / London / Paris) and set my meeting in any of those zones. It's really important for those of us who travel regularly or who have global clients.

Please include the time zone functionality in the outlook.com beta. Calendar is not usable without it.

no longer able to designate a time zone for an appointment in the beta but can in the "classic". This is really important for those of us who travel regularly.

Timezone functionality has gone from bad to totally missing. For people who travel setting events that start in one timezone and end in another is critical. Just copy iOS functionality.

what happened to the "more details" part of creating a calendar event? I don't see a button to select the time zone, add invitees, etc.
