Simplify the People/Contacts Editing
Too complex. Why have separate lists for Outlook, Skype and Linkedin that cross relate, and mean that you cannot edit or correct an entry in any single one. GET RID OF THE "GREYED OUT" ADDRESSES IN CONTACTS THAT CANNOT BE EDITED.

This is probably low on your list, but in contacts, it would be able to edit the description of the phone or email address. So, instead of just Mobile or work phone, be able to put a name there.

This feedback area is also very nonuser friendly. What has happened to E?

Seriously! Tried adding a name to an address and there is no way to edit this contact!? Why is this? People's details change. Why does MSN not allow us to edit any more?

Major problem and always the same. Say someone has a landline, mobile and a work place. Plus a work address. they change jobs and now have only the mobile and a new email address. Amend the person, overtype the email address, delete the landline number. All looks fine. But when viewing the amended record, the old email address and the landline number are still there, and may be supplied when matching names on emails etc. I have screen shots but can't attach here? But easy to reproduce.

Cannot delete names from person list; bad emails keep coming up as suggestions when I look for a name. Why?

Where and how can you now view or edit contacts on outlook online? There is NO way! The online help instructions are probably from windows 7.

We only get a few predefined labels for contact details (eg. Phone, Mobile, Fax).
We should be able to edit these labels to whatever we like, eg:
Customer service
Card problems
Home Phone
Work mobile (avoid)
Emergencies number
etc...
Right now, to call my son's school, I have the numbers saved in the different predefined labels and then I added the real "description" of each phone number in the notes, horrible workaround... -

Editing contacts is not easy. On our gmail account, all we have to do is update the email address and bam... it's changed everywhere. But in outlook, nope. We have to delete the contact altogether and make sure that it is deleted from every group we have it in and from the suggestions when we go to type in a recipient. Then make a new contact for the old one and add it to all the appropriate groups. Otherwise it keeps sending emails to nowhere and the person doesn't get them at the new address. What is wrong with this picture?
Thinking of switching entirely to gmail if you can't fix this. -

No "EDIT" to edit contact details. No "EDIT" button on "the right" or "on the toolbar", or anyplace else. Guess I'm stuck with OLD DATA with this version.

I cannot add, edit or view contacts. The options to add or
edit are grayed out. The People page shows the list of contacts on the left, but the rest of the page has the message " Something went wrong. Try refreshing the page or come back later." I have refreshed and returned to the page multiple times. -

Why is it every time I go to edit contact I always get the message that it can't save changes right now!! So frustrating.

Can't edit a contact. Even though I've entered the new email addess, Hotmail keeps pulling up the OLD address. If I click edit, I don't see the old address to delete. Info looks good, but guess I'll have to delete entire person and start over.

I've tried for over 30 minutes to find a way to edit a contact with no success.
This capability is either too hidden to be easily found or doesn't exist. Either way, "outlook.live" mail is terrible!

Cannot change email addresses. When going to people and selecting a friend to edit, there is no way to remove or replace an old email address with a new one. I can add it, but when sending an email and go to pick the name, it always uses the old email address that is no longer valid. How do I permanently get rid of the old email address? I tried deleting them from the system and then re-adding them with the new email. That worked under people but when writing a new email it still calls up the old email address. When I selected X, it removed them but I cannot find their email address even though it appears in people. Also email addresses don't change in contact lists either. Now, even though they exist in Contacts, when I go into the Contact Lists it cannot find the to readd them.
I have been fighting this for over 2 hours now. Please help and fix system. PS: I wrote software for over 40 years so know what should be done. -

Fix the "edit" contact button so it actually works as currently you can't "save" the changes you make.

DOES NOT WORK RIGHT : I correct a "PEOPLE" email address and save it. Then send emails to that person and the incorrect address is used DESPITE the contact file showing the new (corrected ) address. THIS STINKS! I now have to resend all manuallly PLUS I CANNOT TRUST THIS SOFTWARE to work.
