Disable link preview in received mail
It's showing a link preview in emails I receive that have links. I don't want the appearance of emails I receive to be changed from that intended by the sender.
In the settings, there is an option to disable link preview for composed mail, but I don't see an option for received mail. I would very much like to turn off this feature for received email.
Or, perhaps you could make it so that the link preview is only shown when you hover over the link, or something like that.
This feature is stupid.
I have clients that book appointments with my site.
They get a confirmation email that contains a link to cancel their appointment if they need to.
In outlook.com the link automatically activates!
Every time the client books a time, they automatically cancel that time just by opening the email.. not even clicking the cancel link.
I dislike the fact that the link preview setting automatically turned on after I clicked a link in an email.

Allow the option to preview the first 2 or 3 lines on the inbox. Much more efficient than a side pain or window.
What everyone else says.
I'm also on a metered connection for 6 months every year. No need to consume bandwidth by pulling down a bunch of junk off the internet when all I want to see is what the sender intended me to see. If I want to look something up I will.
Stop "helping" when I don't want you to. Overtones of "Hey, it looks like you're writing a letter".
I agree. Some e-mails are spam, and I don't want to open on preview because it's malicious.
email showing preview of links in email, but my box is NOT checked, please fix, i hate that

Don't want to preview links! It's dangerous (can activate malicious content in malware spam). This is IMPORTANT. There used to be an option that turned this off.
