Hide reading pane for junk folder.
I want different views for different folders reading pane for inbox, hide reading pane for junk folder. Trying to select junk mail to block opens the message why would I want that? also once I set not junk for a message why does it continue to send them to junk?

There should be an option to disable the reading pane for the Junk Mail folder, or at least show only the text. By retrieving and displaying the graphics, Microsoft is confirming to spammers and phishers that the email address is valid, which automatically adds it to there attack lists, which then get sold to other attackers.
We should also have the ability to disable or have "text view only" of the Deleted Items folder, since junk mail is moved there and may be displayed if the messages in the Deleted Items are viewed.

Bring back single click for reporting junk and single click reporting junk mail as "not junk"

Remove the preview window, its that easy. It is completely unnecessary for junk e-mails. If I don't want to open an E-mail I shouldn't be forced to. The fact that no one saw this just proves you need to stop trying to change things.

Here's what I did: Settings button in top right> view full settings> mail> layout> inbox layout> where do you want the reading bane to appear?> hide until I open a message. This will also change "what do you want to happen when you move or delete the item you are viewing?" and set it from open the next item to don't show any item.
This is the easy fix and makes the beta a lot easier to use. They should make this behaviour the default.

I agree with this. I like the reading pane for the inbox, but for junk mail, where I just like to skim through quickly to see what is/isn't junk, the reading pane is totally unnecessary and makes the process much longer and more tiresome. I would like the option for the junk email folder to appear as in the original outlook, with no reading pane.

There needs to be a way to keep the junk email messages from showing. It is junk for a purpose--it is from a source that frequently contains ****** content that should be rated "***". What if a young person (i.e. grandchild) should see it and decide to click on it. Even when it is deleted it stays in the trash folder for 10 days so there is still the opportunity for it to be opened.

Don't automatically open junk mail in the viewing pane as this can alert spammers that you have at least clicked on their email which confirms the address as legit (so I have heard). I like to hover over an address to check it is legit before I consider opening the email, and if it looks dodgy I will flag it as a phishing attempt without opening it. I can't do this effectively in the beta version.

Preview pane needs to show full width capability of the actual email message. Otherwise get rid of it.

I agree with skbernal. Somehow some of these spammers are using my alternate email address I have with Hotmail if I block it accidentally, I wont get those emails. I don't know how they are able to do this.
I don't like the pane for junk at all.

Make it possible to not only delete, but also block junk email without it popping open.

I think its horrible that when you go to the junk folder, and you are searching through... not only are things not sent to my inbox when I approve they are not spam it's very bad that when you delete a junk email then next one automatically opens. Meaning that its a much easier way to get Trojans and viruses making using Hotmail/outlook very unsafe

Or at least provide separate settings for this folder vs. all others.
Not doing this by default is a security risk and shows offensive and undesirable content (the definition of 'spam/junk', remember?) and validates email addresses to spammers.
