I like the mode with the Reading Pane off
You turned it on for me... can you let me turn it off?
The Reading Pane takes up too much space on the right, and I want my previews to show up in an ordered way (right now it might be a little hard to tell which word belongs to which thing).
Thanks for trying the Outlook.com beta! We’re glad to inform that you can turn the Reading Pane off yourself by taking these steps:
1. Go to Settings (you should see the Quick Settings in the side pane)
2. Reading pane > Hide (it’s a radio button)
If this is the mode you prefer, go right ahead and personalize your Outlook.com that way!
I agree. The beta is ridiculously bad. Spiting the screen into panels makes reading and composing emails impossible.
If they make this mandatory I will definitely leave Outlook.
I absolutely agree. The beta is ridiculously bad and what you said is the main reason.
The original Hotmail was simple and straightforward. That was what made it great.
This beta is change for the sake of change and it reduces functionality to the point of uselessness.
It they make it mandatory I will definitely find a new email provider.
Yea that no full screen thing was infuriating. I want to be able to focus on one email and full screen allowed that - now its like the signal to noise ratio just went unacceptable. Beta is to Alpha as AM radio was to FM radio (except backwards no one tried to sell my AM after FM radio)
Completely agree, I need to be able to see the full email.
If it was split until you actually clicked the email you want, then It became full screen, you could then have a minimise option to put it back to split screen

i cant read my emails, screen is too small i dont care about ads that try to be what my email is about but is an add for something else, super annoying i want full screen mode and nothing but the email none of this clutter!!!!!!
The screen is now split into 4 sections which makes reading and writing emails very awkward! Too little space on screen to read. Horrible format!
I hate having 'split screen' with the email lists in one window and the actual opened email in a second window. The current setup works better where emails are opened in 'full screen'. And get rid of the adds!! How can you complete with Google when you have a huge portion of the screen taken up with adds.
So far every time I try beta the panels, the way the email opens and leaves me to sit and search, and close out and honestly its so confusing I turn beta off witin few minutes of trying and tried four times so far, so please dont like beta at all so far!
You can not read the whole history of the emails

Unable to add folders unless I turn off Beta.
It would be good if Beta actually let users open emails and not just have a preview pane.

Good God!! This is a brilliantly moronic layout. Like I have the time to scroll up and down, and side to side in order to see entire message?? And the huge space for advertising with a tempting arrow that calls out "Ad Settings" and of course, this arrow does NOTHING. Stop wasting my time while you increase advertising space and lessen functionality.
please remove the space taken up with advertisements. Thank you!
Exactly as many said!!!
We need to open content in new Windows. This becomes critical when using smaller screens!
On one of my working places I have a couple of small screens. It is impossible to use the Beta version as there´s no possibility to have the message on a Full window, stand alone window. This is really annoying and I end up switching to the older layout after 3 minutes of usage... I would like to have the message on a separate window when I want. Exactly like the "Open in a New Window" feature of the currently official version.
Yeah, same as other people before me... This is not the same issue, and the fix doesn't change the size of the email pane when opening the email. I need it full size, now for many emails I have to scroll to see the full width or the layout is *********.

I agree. I don't want to turn off the reading panel. It was fine in the old version with it turned on. The suggestion to turn it off does not solve our problem. I found the old format perfectly suitable.

Issue is not being able to "hide reading pane"; the issue is being able to open a full-size reading pane. I see that you "merged" the issues, but they are not the same. Not being able to read emails in a full-size window makes the Beta version of Outlook significantly less functional than the classic version. Don't give up! Still work to do!

I really could not work with with this small window. There are all sorts of things (features) I can put up with, but this one would force me to use the Chrome/Gmail or some other front-end link. I shall revert back to the standard Outlook for now and try the beta again in a couple of weeks as I know there are weekly updates.
MUY DIFICIL O DEMORADO BUSCAR ALGO NUEVO O QUE ESTA ESPERANDO
Totally agree. Issue is seeing the full email...either on the main screen or being able to open and see. Reverting back.
