I frequently get multiple emails from a sender in one day or daily emails from a sender. In the previous version, I could hover over the first line of an email in the Inbox and a context menu would appear. Then I could select "find" and handle all emails from that sender from the results screen. I don't see how to do that in the beta.
I'll probably have to leave the beta version because I can't do this type of "find".425 votes
Thank you for your feedback! This feature is planned and will come to the beta in a future update. We will reply back when it is available.
It appears the Top Results items are sorted algorithmically based by relevance (?), but that ends up being counterproductive - especially when I know I want the most recent response to a set of threads with a unique keyword.
I've found myself searching multiple times and overlooking the result because it is at the bottom of the Top Results list even though it is the newest reply/thread.
You're already pulling out these as the most likely results - I don't see the benefit of sorting such a short list by relevance vs. something like date.211 votes

Searching is very difficult in mail software. It should search a persons mail/ subject/contents in the body of the mails. The search should include inbox as well as including archive mails.182 votes
Thank you for your feedback. We are working on the Advanced Search feature which will bring the ability to search in any folder, search by subject, and etc. next month. We appreciate your patience and will let you know as soon as the feature is available.
When I search I want only one list of results so I can follow conversation with one person quickly. Top results is useless as I don't know what is missing there. I want all messages, excluding deleted folder, sorted by date with the most recent on top.172 votes
just noticed that, the drag and drop features in recipients (to, cc, bcc) is somehow disabled170 votes
Thanks for trying the Outlook.com beta! Your feedback is critical to our success.
This is a feature we have planned, and will enable in a future update.
In Outlook 2010 and later, users can choose to display the total number of items in each folder (rather than the number of unread items). Please add this feature.129 votes
Thank you for your feedback on the Outlook.com beta! We are considering this change and will reply back when we have an update.
When moving an e-mail to a folder that has been expanded, passing over other (collapsed) folders makes them expand automatically immediately. This can move the desired destination folder off the page - most annoying. Folders should only expand after the mouse has hovered over for a certain period of time.121 votes

Cannot delete suggested contacts in To: when sending email. I have to switch back to the old version to delete them.75 votes
Most of the emails I send are one-offs to business addresses and customer service. I do not want outlook.com to remember/suggest any of addresses to which I have sent email that are not in my contacts...you took away this preference to not remember which used to be in "Advanced Privacy Settings."72 votes
I find that in Outlook, Search does look in the subject and contents. But the results include email with attachments. I can't find the searched word in the attachment or anywhere in the email. It needs to be more clear where the matching search is in attachments.
It looks like you display the search results for conversations, which is good.67 votes

Currently the search feature is non-functional. When something is entered into the SEARCH block, Outlook.com says that it's "Searching . . ." but no results are ever shown. THIS IS IMPORTANT - NO WAY TO FIND PREVIOUS EMAILS FROM THE SAME SENDER.45 votes
I use massively search folders on Outlook client, I would like retrieve them on the web client.45 votes
I want to thanks everyone for providing feedback so that we can make Outlook.com better.
The folder scopes that are available is limited today but you can still access them via the “All folders” button on the right side of the search box. You can also select a folder in the left pane first before you search. That will scope the search to just that folder.
We are working to improve the Advanced Search function which will allow you to scope your search to any folders. We will let you know when the feature is available.
Incoming mail sound is not functioning. Checked my settings and it was on, but just tested it and no sound.42 votes
I am wondering where some of my older emails went to. I know I didn't delete them, but they don't show up is search. I'm guessing your software deletes emails that are older than a certain date. How do I recover these emails.41 votes
