How do I do an advanced search in the beta? Specifically, how do I search by date?276 votes
Thank you for using our product and thank you for letting us know your feedback. You can scope the date range by clicking on the “All folders” button on the right side of the search box today.
We are working on a more powerful Advanced Search feature which will allow you to specify more scoping attributes. Please stay tuned.
the ads cause the email to shrink and makes it very hard to see the email. could you please remove the ads on the right side. Thanks152 votes
I dislike the colours and the format of the new beta version. I would like my old version back. I should have the choice. Why do I need
Do not need colour circles. Just simple email! Should have the choice.122 votes
There's a wrong translation for french in the spam folder. I guess english label to empty this folder is "Empty folder", which has been translated to "Dossier vide" (means "Folder IS empty").
Correct translation is : "Vider le dossier"17 votes
Miss being able to add alerts. ie a week two days and two hours, as with the old version.55 votes
I want Hotmail back the way it was. I do not like the change. Some of my folders have been deleted.31 votes
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you took the time to write to us.
You might enjoy the new Outlook experience more with a few changes to your settings, which you can find by clicking the gear icon. Try changing the setting for Conversation view to Off, changing the setting for Reading pane to Hide, and changing the setting for Attachment preview to Off.
We’re always interested in new ideas, but we need some more specific feedback to fix the problem for you. If you have more detailed suggestions, please update your idea or add a new one.

Without opening any questionable messages, the "Block" feature previously available in the "Junk email" folder was good in that it displayed the email address ID for the selected message(s) before giving the option to confirm the "Block" request. This helpful option does no appear to be available any longer.52 votes
Older version allows you to select multiple items, even all items, in Junk and report them as phishing scams. This beta does not and that is a big fail for me.1,768 votes
Update 9/19/2017: You can now select and deselect multiple items, then mark as phishing or block. Thanks for using the Outlook.com beta!

Yet unable to open emails but can on other sites and other areas of the internet, WOT WOS run fine?
Could not solve problem.45 votes
First off, thank you for using Outlook.com and for taking the time to provide feedback!
I am sorry for any bugs or problems you hit in the new Outlook.com experience.
We have been working hard to address these issues. I just tested and confirmed that I am not seeing this problem any more.
Can you give it another try and report back by opening up a new feedback thread or contacting support from within Outlook.com?
I want to double click my message to see the full message rather than the squashed preview, it's missing some information unless I scroll the preview pane.875 votes
There have been a few people reporting that double click isn’t working for them. We are checking to make sure that this feature fully gets enabled. I will respond back soon with an update.
Why the german version called empty the trash or Delete folder "Leerer Ordner" just Empty Folder?19 votes
Although you can select ALL using the checkbox icon at the top of the email list, you can't UNSELECT (or DESELECT) individual emails. I tried clicking individual email checkboxes (results in all emails unselected) and I tried ctrl+clicking the email (same result). This is a major fail.1,619 votes
Update 9/19/2017: You can now select and deselect multiple items. Thanks for using the Outlook.com beta!
cannot read older emails I have saved fro a few years ago. Cannot write in Japanese as the characters won't go through to the recipient.32 votes
The "?"/help function is not functioning at all. If you put in a word to search nothing happens. Now there is no way (or you buried it so people wont bother you) to email or call for help? Are you just trying to make people leave?!17 votes
I liked the previous feature of having categories with different colors in the calendar. Having colors makes it easier for me to know what should be done, compared to charms. eg have a red category for deadlines and a green for completed. that way i briefly scan my calendar page and i know all the information i need.326 votes
Thanks for trying the Outlook.com beta! We’re excited to announce categories are now available in calendar to color-code your events.
Right-click on an event and select “Categorize”.
Please keep all of the great feedback coming!
Still don't like the "focused/other" distinction, especially since a lot of important stuff ends up in "other". There's already the junk folder to get rid of useless e-mails, I don't need another filter, especially one that decides for me what's important and what's not.1,225 votes
Thank you for your feedback on the Outlook.com beta! I fully understand that the Focused/Other feature is one that might take a little getting used to, and might not fit everyone’s workflow.
The good news I have is that you can turn this feature off yourself:
1. Go to Settings
2. Where it says Sort messages into Focused and other, toggle it to Off
Let me know if this doesn’t work. Please keep the feedback flowing, we’d love to make the beta experience an amazing one for you!
The ads on the right are a nuisance. It is too cramped and complicated is right! And very difficult to find the thread of my email messages. Also attachments are hard to find. In short a true disaster. Take me back to the old outlook please. Help!153 votes
There were 2 old messages. What more do you need. You removed them.34 votes
