  1. Cannot block multiple spam emails at once

This seems like it should be a simple fix. There is clearly a massive issue with the amount of spam that is sent and the amount of spam that gets to recipients. While it is probably useless to try to block sender accounts because they will simply change a few characters and keep sending away, for hotmail to not bother having the option to block multiple spam emails at once seems to be willful ignorance to the problem, or laziness as to not implement a solution. If there are legitimate reasons to as to why the issues is still not…

  2. Outlook not blocking spam. Just sends it to my junk file for me to deal with.

Outlook has no valid answer on how to stop all the spam emails.

  3. Junk Email Deleted Quicker Than Advertised

The Junk Email folder has a banner saying "Junk Email will be deleted after 30 days" yet it repeatedly automatically deletes things 11 days old. Really not happy!!

  4. junkmail filtering

Junkmail filtering on outlook is ineffective to say the least.

Junkmail works in a few ways.
    - Robots scan the internet for email addresses.
    - Business collect your email for legitimate reasons (like receipts or alerts) but then continue to send unsolicited mail
    - by a robot flooding random emails with a readably sounding senders name, a randomised or misleading email address, misleading body content (usually duplicated from an existing reputable website, and requiring the user to interact by clicking a hyperlink or download an executable.

    Does this look familiar:

  5. [Urgent] Add the ability to 'Mark as phishing' without opening emails

Add the ability to 'Mark as phishing' without having to view the email, also add the option to 'Mark as phishing' on the windows 10 mail client which doesn't appear to have the option at all (as it is meant to be for the common good).

It is really annoying that you have to open an email you already know is fake just to report it and potentially runs the risks of some technologies like web beacons harvesting information.

  6. rules that work on spam folder

I am making tonnes of rules to try to cut down on the amount of spam I am getting. I have dozens of rules, saying for certain words to be deleted, but they are still ending up in my Junk Email. The same words being used over and over in the rules, but they are still going through. So your rules are not working what so ever.
I was told that the rules do NOT apply to emails that are you already direct to the spam folder, that your "spam" rules bypass any rules we make ourselves. That's rather annoying.…

  7. Phishing using Apple's name

    Apple related phishing scams:

Why do I get 2 or 3 phishing emails every day for things apple related from microsoft's mail system, but never a one from gmail? I report EVERY ONE OF THEM, but you guys can';t figure out how to filter these? Is Microsoft not as competent as Google or just plain inept and/or lazy?

  8. Allow messages to be permanently deleted instead of routing to junk email folder

In Outlook Destkop, there is the option to permanently delete items instead of routing to junk email folder. This only works though if Outlook (desktop) Junk E-mail rule is used, which it rarely is due to Outlook.com robust spam filtering.

There should be an option on the server side for this. Alternatively, allow control of retention policy applied to junk items.

  9. Junk Email Folder

Junk Email folder - who decides what is 'junk' and how? I have recently had messages about insurance renewal, banking, and medical appointments all sent to the Junk Email folder because 'someone or something' simply decides that they are not relevant. However other **** in which I have absolutely no interest seems to appear in my Inbox. I suggest your algorithm that decides what is what needs some serious reworking.

  10. Emails in RULES sent to JUNK folder, repeatedly.

If an email has a rule, "move the email to a folder" why does the JUNK filter continuously dump them into the junk folder? How much code does it take to "check the rules" before "engaging junk engine?"

  12. Phishing Flag Increases Junk E-mail

Junk e-mail increases after I flag items as phishing scams. Yesterday I flagged a few e-mails as phishing scams and today I have about 30 new spam e-mails.

  13. junk folder requires me to click on each mail item after deleting

Why does the junk folder require me to click on each mail item after deleting one? In the non-beta version, I used to be able to delete a junk email and the focus would automatically change to the next email in the junk folder. Now, it annoyingly requires me to click on the next email ("Select an item to read") after deleting. Please fix this!

  15. Blocking spam that share a common name@randomdomain.com

Blocking e-mail should get a new entry mode. Right now, a popular tactic for advertisers that get a hold of your e-mail address is to generate random domain names, using the same name before the @. For example: I'm currently getting dozens of e-mails from newsletter@randomdomain1.com; newsletter@randomdomain2.com, etc. If it were to be possible to block all senders with "newsletter@", that would solve my issue. I understand that this would also filter out all other newsletter@'s that I actually signed up for, but at least that would be my own choice. Perhaps it's even possible to block all…

  16. Fix Spam and whitelist rules

Not spam button doesn't ever remember settings. Should whitelist addresses so messages marked as "Not Spam" should never go into spam again.

  17. Should be able to block emails in Junk without having to open them

You should be able to block emails in the junk folder w/o opening them. There is no 'block' option until you open it.

  18. Add an option for how long to keep junk mail

It would be nice to have an option in Settings that would allow users to choose how long Junk Mail items stay in the JM folder before they get deleted.

  20. Add regular expressions to rules

Why is such a simple feature not yet in outlook? I get tons of spam emails that I can block easily if only there was a regular expression feature for rules.. Please add this, it's very annoying. Thanks
