    Hello – I just wanted to let you know that we have enabled search date ranges in the new Outlook.com experience.

    If you click into the search bar at the top of the screen, you will see a filter view in the right of the search box. If you click that you can see you can now enter date ranges.

    Thanks for your feedback! You can make more emails appear on the same page in your message list by configuring the density settings of each message.

    Click on the settings gear, and open the quick settings pane. Then, set Display Density to Compact. Then, click on “View full settings” and search for “Message Preview Text”. Set “Message Preview Text” to “Hide message previews”.

    This should give you a much denser view of your emails!

    Hey, you can disable the persona icons (colored circles) by opening settings. Click the gear in the header, then click “View all outlook settings” in the settings pane at the bottom.

    Then go to Mail > Layout > Sender image. Select “Don’t show sender images”.

    Please check your internet connection or try again later.
    My speed 50 to 80 mbs, ping 10 upload speed 12.5mbs
    Yet unable to open emails but can on other sites and other areas of the internet, WOT WOS run fine?
    Could not solve problem.

    First off, thank you for using Outlook.com and for taking the time to provide feedback!

    I am sorry for any bugs or problems you hit in the new Outlook.com experience.

    We have been working hard to address these issues. I just tested and confirmed that I am not seeing this problem any more.

    Can you give it another try and report back by opening up a new feedback thread or contacting support from within Outlook.com?

  8. Selecting multiple items in Junk folder

    Older version allows you to select multiple items, even all items, in Junk and report them as phishing scams. This beta does not and that is a big fail for me.

  10. Get rid of the "focused/other" folders

    Still don't like the "focused/other" distinction, especially since a lot of important stuff ends up in "other". There's already the junk folder to get rid of useless e-mails, I don't need another filter, especially one that decides for me what's important and what's not.

    Thank you for your feedback on the Outlook.com beta! I fully understand that the Focused/Other feature is one that might take a little getting used to, and might not fit everyone’s workflow.

    The good news I have is that you can turn this feature off yourself:

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Where it says Sort messages into Focused and other, toggle it to Off

  11. categories with colors in calendar

    I liked the previous feature of having categories with different colors in the calendar. Having colors makes it easier for me to know what should be done, compared to charms. eg have a red category for deadlines and a green for completed. that way i briefly scan my calendar page and i know all the information i need.

    Thank you for your feedback! We have just released an option to switch to more saturated calendar colors in the new Outlook on the web.

    If you would like to try out this experience, please click on the gear icon in the top right of your calendar module to access your settings, and toggle “Bold event colors”.

    I want to double click my message to see the full message rather than the squashed preview, it's missing some information unless I scroll the preview pane.

  14. The multi-select feature does NOT work correctly on the new Beta Outlook.com

    Although you can select ALL using the checkbox icon at the top of the email list, you can't UNSELECT (or DESELECT) individual emails. I tried clicking individual email checkboxes (results in all emails unselected) and I tried ctrl+clicking the email (same result). This is a major fail.

    Thanks for using Outlook.com! To change the email address you’re sending from, do the following:

    1. Use the expansion button and open a dropdown of message actions (contains Save Draft, Insert Signature, …)
    2. Choose “Show From”
    3. Use the “From” button to change the email address you’re sending from

    When I delete an email, I don't want to go to previous or next email. I want it to go back to my inbox. When I select do nothing, it stays on the deleted email and I have to click on Inbox to verify it was deleted and get back to inbox. The old version just went back to inbox.

    Thanks for your feedback on the Outlook.com beta! We’re glad to inform that you can change this setting yourself by taking these steps:

    1. Go to Quick Settings (gear icon in the top right) → View full settings → Mail → Layout
    2. Scroll to the Reading Pane section
    3. Under the option: “What do you want to happen when you move or delete the item you are viewing?”, pick the option: “Return to the message list”

    If this is the mode you prefer, go right ahead and personalize your Outlook.com that way!

    What is Dark Mode?
    Dark Mode is a more-pleasant way to read your Outlook.com email if you prefer interfaces that are less bright or if you are in a low-light environment. Dark Mode is available on the new Outlook.com experience (formerly known as the Outlook.com Beta experience) only.

    How do I turn it on?
    To turn on Dark Mode, open the Quick Settings panel by selecting the Gear icon at the top of your screen. The option to enable Dark Mode is near the top of the panel, immediately under Theme selection. If your browser is unable to support Dark Mode, consider using Microsoft Edge.

    Thanks for trying the Outlook.com beta! We’re glad to inform that we’ve heard your feedback and have rebuilt categories with some added features!

    You can now easily apply a custom category and give it a name and color of your choice by either clicking the “Categorize” button in the top menu bar or by right-clicking on an email and going to “Categorize”. You can also filter a category by directly clicking on it in your list of emails.

    December 2017: A checkbox has always been available in the message list for you to select multiple items with. Moving your mouse cursor over the colored circles that have sender pictures (on the left side in the message list), you will find an unfilled checkbox for you to check. You can perform multi-select actions this way, before deleting.

  20. Note not visible at outlook.com

    Outlook Notes e.g. created on the iPhone are not visible in the web client at outlook.com. That should be fixed. Only if I delete the Note on the iPhone it becomes visible in the Delete Emails Folder in outlook.com.
