  1. inbox rules

Inbox rules need more detail like 'çontains' same as what was in the old outlook desktop e.g. I get my Facebook feed sent to email so I can easily work on one device and I want to apply a move rule, I need to apply it to each individual email. I also run 3 Facebook pages so this is alot of redundant effort. If I had contains then I could put a keyword in and run the rule

First off, than you for all of the great feedback. I know that this feedback was left a few months ago. However, I did want to let you know that there is a new Rules experience. I believe this new experience will meet your requirements of being able to do more advanced filtering.

Please give it a try and let us know any other feedback you may have!

Here is a direct link to the rules settings

  2. Recover deleted items

Does not seem to allow for recovering deleted items. A very big step backwards. For that reason alone will not use. Will not be using until this is fixed.

First off, Thank you all for trying out the outlook.com beta, and providing all of this feedback. I just wanted to provide an update to let you know that we now have Recover Deleted items in the Beta.

When you are in the beta, and click on the deleted items folder, you should now notice there is a link at the top called Recover Deleted items.

Once you click on that, you will see all of the old deleted items, as well as can select to delete all if you would like.

Thanks again, for the feedback and keep it coming!

  3. draft folder now SUCKS

Your new beta system SUCKS. In my draft folder it will NOT KEEP NEW messages at top, regardless if I have them FLAGGED, PINNED or MARKED by any means. This beta system SUCKS. When is it going to be fixed???

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you took the time to write to us.

You might enjoy the new Outlook experience more with a few changes to your settings, which you can find by clicking the gear icon. Try changing the setting for Conversation view to Off, changing the setting for Reading pane to Hide, and changing the setting for Attachment preview to Off.

We’re always interested in new ideas, but we need some more specific feedback to fix the problem for you. If you have more detailed suggestions, please update your idea or add a new one.

  5. Search results do not show what folder a message is in

In the previous version of Outlook, there was a column to show in what folder the message was found. Now it only displays the list of messages. Due to this, there is no way to know if the messages displayed are in Deleted Items, Inbox, Outbox, or custom folders. This is a pretty important feature for keeping emails organized.

The "top results" makes search results more confusing. About 98% of the time I'm seeking a message from a sender and enter that into the search box. I don't need "top results" such as what an internet search performs. Just show…

Thanks for trying the Outlook.com Beta! We’re happy to say ‘Sweep’ does exist; select any number of messages and click the ‘Sweep’ button on the top bar (below Search). You then have various options to sweep your selected emails!

  10. Don't automatically cluster emails from certain days together.

If people want to sort emails or see when they were sent, there are still dates displayed. Adding divisions into meaningless groups just clutters up the look of the inbox.

First off, thank you for using Outlook.com and for taking the time to provide feedback!

I just wanted to take a minute and let you know that we have added a setting to disable/enable the Date settings.

To turn it off do the following steps:

    1) Click on the Gear in the top right
    2) Turn off the toggle for Group messages by Date

Thanks! And keep the feedback coming!

    Thanks for your feedback!

    You can block a user:
    - In the junk folder by clicking “Not spam” → “Block” in the top menu bar
    - In any folder by right-clicking → “Block”
    - On any email item by selecting More actions (“…” menu next to reply/forward) → “Block sender”

You can add a user to your safe senders:
    - On any email item by selecting More actions (“…” menu next to reply/forward) → “Add to safe senders”

You can view your list of blocked/safe sender users and domains by going to Settings (Gear icon at top-right) → “View all Outlook settings” → “Mail” → “Junk email”

  13. Old Colors that pop out to you

All-Day events no longer pop out with the highlighted colors - those are my monthly reminders and recurring dates that NEED to stand out to me. If anything, the day-to-day appointments and schedule COULD be unhighlighted.

Thank you for your feedback! We have just released an option to switch to more saturated calendar colors in the new Outlook.

If you would like to try out this experience, please click on the gear icon in the top right of your calendar module to access your settings, and toggle “Bold event colors”.

  16. New feedback

How can I contact Microsoft to try to resolve recovery of one of my email accounts? Sorry to post this here but I could not find any other email address to write to. I have filled out various account recovery forms, but they all return saying my information cannot be identified as the owner, the last time within only seconds of submitting my account recovery request. Who can I contact, please?

  18. Make it easier to reply from different aliases

It's possible to enter full reply mode (instead of using quick reply, "add a message") and then show all options for aliases to reply from, but it's cumbersome.

Please make the different aliases associated with my account more accessible to me from the quick reply and the full reply modes.
