Outlook.com beta (Internal)

This is the Microsoft Internal forum where you can give us feedback on what you would like to see in the new (React) OWA. We’ll release first to Outlook.com, which is why some enterprise features may be missing.

Please vote on ideas you like or submit your own. This will help us decide what to build next.

We’ll reply to top issues, and will consider other suggestions as well. Thank you for your patience!

    • With that preview next feature enabled, I can't open any message in separate window.

With that preview next feature enabled, I can't open any message in separate window. Is that intended or just a bug?

If intentional, it's a great way to limit the # of people willing to use the feature.

          • Don't recommend gifs while typing message

When I'm drafting a new message and I typed the word "Thanks", it highlighted blue automatically. When I clicked on it, it opened up a right rail with related gifs. Cool how it automatically pulls gifs related to the text I've typed, but I wouldn't highlight the word "Thanks". Because highlighting the text makes it seem like choosing a gif will replace the text, and also because at that point I haven't prompted anything communicating I want to add a gif. Hopefully the word "thanks" wouldn't be highlighted every time I'm drafting an email that says thanks. The related gifs…

For the initial release we decided that view item attachments was not a valuable enough consumer feature to make it into the V1. Most of the usage/value is from enterprise use and we plan on adding this in the future.

              • please add ignore conversation action

I really miss the ignore conversation button, it is very useful for noisy threads I don't care about.

                • "Move to folder" should remember most-recently/commonly used folders

Being able to quickly filter and sort away messages is important. Similar to the previous version of Outlook.com, the ability to "Move" quickly to your common folders is super important.

In lieu of this LRU-cache of folders used when moving messages, it would be more accessible to have a "Show all" folders option; right now the only way to find other folders is to actually search for them.

As an example, I have a folder called "Purchases", but with the new Outlook experience, I'm finding myself deleting my transaction receipts instead of taking the time to click Move, type "pur"…

                  • Put @mentions in React

I really like using @mentions to address people in mail, I really miss it from our Beta.

                    • Add item view to React

React version doesn't support turning off conversation view, that's a blocker for me
