Outlook Customer Manager, a new Office 365 service, helps small businesses track and grow their customer relationships right within Outlook. It gives a complete view of interactions with each business contact, helps track tasks and deals in progress, and surfaces timely reminders—all next to your inbox. Outlook Customer Manager will be available at no extra cost to Office 365 Business Premium subscribers – beginning with those in First Release program and continuing worldwide in the coming months.   1. Why does Outlook Customer Manager Exist?

    I just discovered Outlook Customer Manager and for the life of me cannot see how I am supposed to use this as a CRM. All it does is show contact information for contacts next to your email. Here is what I'm looking for in CRM functionality: 1) Classifying contacts by type (business, personal, etc.); and by status (prospect, client, etc.); 2) Tracking sales funnel information based on status of business contacts. 3) E-mail drip campaigns for certain contacts through AWeber; and 4) Reports on number of leads, conversions, and sales.     We have another experience, which we call the module experience. Currently it is only supported in Outlook client. There in the bottom left, next to the email navigation icon you can find three dots and “Add-ins”. When opening this, you will see some more functions. You can add custom fields to contact which can be used to classify them. There are opportunities/ deals you can use for sales funnel information. We also support basic reporting in Excel. All in all it is supposed to be a “starter” CRM and might not fulfill all your requirements. For more sophisticated reports and customization we would encourage you to look at Dynamics CRM. Hope that helps.

  2. CRM tools need to include company name.

    When I import contacts to Customer Manager from the Outlook contacts list, "company" is not included. The field is blank in Customer Manager, even for contacts where company was input in the outlook contacts list or inbox. Company name is a key piece of info for a CRM tool to track, and Customer Manager should include it when provided. It should also update dynamically back and forth as changes are made in the Outlook customer list and/or Customer Manager.

  4. Missed Call Search

    Please make searching OCM Contact phone #'s easier and consistent. If my business misses a phone call and wants to look that number up in our OCM Contacts OCM won't display all phone numbers. Right now I can search for my own cell # that I have under a Contact and it doesn't come up.

  5. Holiday Card List

    Please allow a way to create a list of contacts that need to be sent a holiday card. This could be a SharePoint list that pulls in contact information from OCM. I'm sure there are other uses for a contact list of this sort, and is available on other CRM systems (i.e. tagging, etc.).

  7. Need database maintenance utlities

    When trying to delete a Contact Record, an error dialog box pops up with: Details Not Avail. . . contact your admin for help. Well, I am the Admin, but there seems to be no tools for database management.

    Internet explorer is my default browser. Error received says "Sorry, an error has occurred during Export.

  11. Mobile Client - Add separate tabs for companies and clients

    Please add separate tabs for contacts and companies in the mobile client. This just additional clicks for me to get where I want. If you decide not to add a separate tab then at least remember which segment was selected. Currently it always go back to Contacts.

    Once an offer is created, I cannot complete the details and do not see the phase options. as this is hot, is there a way to re-install (repair) the application without loosing the data

    All contacts show as personal and business, cant separate them.

    Tasks do not synch correctly between machines.

  19. Major bug in saving information.

    There is no way to save a Company, Contact or Task. The Create, Save button is grayed out?

  20. More than 25 new fields per object !

    Actually it isn't possible to add more than 25 fields for a contact / a company or a deal.
