  1. Add Shareable Links Search Option

As organizations encourage the use of file sharing services (OneDrive, Drop Box, & Google Drive) and move away from file attachments, it becomes more difficult to find mail messages. This is because those messages are not marked as "attachments" and flagged with the traditional paperclip icon.

It would be great for Outlook for Mac to flag messages with share links and add a search filter to find messages containing share links.

  2. Allow moving search results to "Focused" or "Other" inboxes

When I'm in my Inbox and I highlight a message, I can see the Move to Other/Focused choices in the top menu under Messages (nothing in the ribbon), but if I do a search and highlight a message, that choice disappears from the Message menu.

I often do searches that result in long conversations that need to be moved to Focused or Other.

Outlook for Mac 2016 v15.41. My MacOS is High Sierra v10.13.2.

  3. Please make the google integration work in any form. It is unusable as is.

Google apps for business are a major player and outlooks support is terrible. So many features not working I could not list them. Please improve

  4. Enable the Mac client to be able to move message(s)/folders to on-line archive. Today, has to be done message by message.

My company uses O365 with On-line archive. Under the Mac client, we have to move individual messages one at a time. Can't move multiple messages or whole folders.

  5. Email - Add Reminder Pop-up Calendar

When you set a date for an email reminder Outlook does not provide a pop-up calendar to help select the required date. This feature is available in Outlook for Windows. It would also be beneficial for the time of day to also be selected as well.

It is difficult to select a day-month-year without seeing what day of the week is being chosen for followup.

  6. after updating task it moves to next

In the task list, when I update a category or followup date, it automatically moves it to the next task. I don't want it to move forward until I'm done updating multiple items on the task. I keep having to click back on the task.

  7. Dragging & Moving messages in Search Mode

When I search for a message & found it, then I want to drag it to a particular folder or sub folder, it's not possible in Mac, though it's very much possible n Outlook for Windows. We want this feature in Outlook for Mac.

  8. Enable the Archive button for older versions of Exchange (prior to Exchange 2016)

There's an odd asymmetry between Exchange for iOS and Exchange for Mac.

Exchange for iOS displays the "archive" button when connected to older Exchange servers (prior to 2016), but Exchange for Mac doesn't.

Please bring Exchange for Mac at least up to parity with Exchange for iOS.

  9. Fix permissions so that shared calendars don't need "Reviewer" permissions to see titles and locations

Currently, any calendars set to "Can view titles and locations" in OWA are seen in OWA and Apple Calendar.app, but not in Outlook 2016. The only way to see shared calendars in Outlook is for the owner to change permissions to "Can view all details". This makes shared calendars appear in Outlook, but triggers reminders for all users who can see the events.

Fix Outlook for Mac so that shared calendar titles and locations can be viewed when "Can view titles and locations" permissions are set.

  11. Allow Rules to run AppleScripts

So I get that with Sandboxing, there's aspects of the "run applescript" option in Rules that wouldn't work so well. Obviously, talking to non-office/non-ms apps wouldn't work too well.

But, there's a lot of use for this within Outlook itself, or to do things that would be allowed. For example, I just ran into someone who has to rebuild a workflow that used the ability to run AppleScripts from rules to handle a really complex set of forwarding conditions. That never leaves outlook, sandboxing wouldn't affect that.

There's a lot of stuff that could be done with this that sandboxing…

  12. Reinvent handling of attachments to free up space on Exchange server

Attachments take up lots of room on the Exchange server and duplicated on the desktop, and more often than not they are not needed for forwarding on but may be useful for reference.

My idea would be to set up a default attachments location (with user option to have it locally or on the network/in the cloud), so that the user can choose to delete the attachment from the email itself - but when doing so Outlook inserts a link into the original email for the user to easily open the attachment again, AND if forwarding or replying, Outlook would…

  14. Allow Unread Message Count on icon to ignore unread messages from Other User's Folder

I have access to Other User's Folders (group email account). I do not want to see the count of unread messages on the icon in the toolbar. I only want that to display what is unread in my primary account (NOT talking about focused mailbox). Perhaps checkboxes for each as to whether it will show them or not to give people the option.

  15. Bring back preview line without line break cutting

Latest update of Mac Outlook (15.40 171108) destroyed the preview line in message window. Suddenly it reads and use the line break char, which cause a lot of information loss in preview. A lot of mail starts with
    Hi!
So now you only se hi instead of the all characters without line break. This is a major downside to all of us handling hundreds of emails per day

  16. Drag and Drop Items in Fullscreen

When in the full screen view of outlook, and you have an email open, you can't drag an attachment, or another email message, into the message you are composing.

You have no trouble doing the the PC version of Outlook.

The only work around is to close full screen view, drag the message you are composing to one side of the screen and the main outlook window to the other side, then drag and drop whatever attachments or messages into the message you are composing.

  17. Collapsable folder pane using a toggle

In the Windows version of Outlook, there's a toggle to quickly turn the folder pane on/off. On my Mac, I have to go to View > Sidebar to turn it on/off. Adding a toggle makes it more consistent with my windows version and is a tad faster for us road warriors who spend all day on laptops.

  18. focus

When opening new documents that are password protected, ensure the password box is not obscured.

Example right click word, open recent - select a password protected file. Commonly the password dialog is opened below other windows and one has to find it to enter the password

  19. Fix recurring tasks bug

Recently I have encountered a problem with recurring tasks.
Asked I complete the task one day and it re-sets for the next occurrence the due date and reminder date won't be the same. For some reason the reminder date seems to jump to a different date and not correspond with the due date.
EG. I have a recurring task every day of the week. I mark it done on Monday but then the dates will jump to say Thursday and it would be missed on the other days yet the setup is to happen every day? It's extremely annoying as…

  20. I would like you to add back the external and internal server configs. My office uses different URL for inside out side which causes issues

Add back the External and Internal Server options. We have inside and outside servers and the auto feature doesn't always work when moving from Inside address to outside. Also, when using VPN and connecting and disconnecting causes issue. At the very least, allow me to override the server address and hard code the OUTSIDE so that I can always reach it. Thanks in advance. I use outlook for both work and home
