  1. add dragging emails into tasks for outlook mac 2016

in my company we had lotus notes. we had a great way of adding to tasks emails. especially the guys following the GTD way of organizing tasks. now we passed to outlook 16 for mac and it looks impossible to drag an email into a task and it makes my job much more difficult. is there a way around?

  2. Make it seemless for Outlook for Mac to sync with Mac Contacts (including iCloud)

When you add a new contact in Mac Contacts (which is in sync with iCloud) you should be able to send an email from Outlook to that contact without needing to copy and paste it manually (in the 21st century)

  3. Add Archive and Retention Policy Management

It's painful that Mac Outlook users need to use either OWA or Windows Outlook to configure Archive or Retention Policies on their mail folders.

  5. Make it optional for Outlook 2016 for Mac to limit syncing when working on tethered connections.

Currently, with version 16.4.1, when working on a tethered connection, outlook for Mac 2016 does not sync items moved from the inbox to other folders, unless the destination folder itself subsequently is made the active folder or is in the favourites. Most probably, as suggested to me by outlook for Mac support, this limited syncing has been introduced as a feature to save metered bandwidth and improve battery autonomy, but the consequence is that local storage becomes out of sync with the cloud mailbox for mobile professionals.. I suggest to make it possible to turn this highly questionable feature off…

  6. Update Modern Authentication for macOS High Sierra (10.13)

Enable 'keychain-access-groups' entitlements in your Xcode build to allow modern auth with client certificates in Outlook for High Sierra.
Trying to log into our SSO portal, I'm asked to select my client certificate for auth, but then taken to a 'access denied' screen. Outlook doesn't have permissions to access other items in the keychain in it's entitlements, so it can't access the cert.

I see secd errors in Console.app all day.

  8. Support flag for followup (like outlook on windows)

Support outlook for windows mail features. Including flag for follow up that will put a flag and date alert on the recipients email.

  9. Shared calendars appear in "FROM" and "Out of office" fields.

When adding someone (or even a resource) to the shared calendars list, the account of that calendar appears in the From field when sending an email, and appears in the Autoreply Settings as a user you can change this for. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with security rights, because sending an email or changing the Out of Office (autoreply) settings will get you an error. It clutters up our input fields though.

  10. Add the ability to copy/paste or export meeting attendees status

When creating large meetings it is difficult to track meeting attendance status. In the Windows version you are able to copy attendee status to the clip board which I can then paste into Excel and build a pivot table to quickly see who has accepted an not responded. When there are more 12 users in the meeting this become very important in a business setting.

    Thank you

  11. Send desktop notifications for folders other than inbox

E.g. KMail allows user to set up each folder (not just Inbox) such that new messages are "acted upon", meaning that desktop notifications will be shown for them. It is a surprising that expensive enterprise product such as MS Office does not have that feature...

  12. Add high contrast themes

As I'm getting older I find it harder to distinguish between very slight differences in contrast and hard to see very light text on light colored background. Please add a high contrast theme to Outlook. The new theme would be especially helpful on the folder list. Best would be capability to have purely black background with white letters or the reverse, white background with black letters. The current white background with light grey letters is killing my eyes.

  13. Please bring back the tool bar commands for "Expand All Groups" and "Collapse All Groups"

Within Outlook Mail, there used to be tool bar commands for "Expand All Groups" and "Collapse All Groups". Furthermore, I found that I could add a macro to invoke these commands from the keyboard. They're really useful when operating on an inbox that spans more than a month of collective messages. Because Outlook starts with all inbox time groups expanded by default, it is handy to be able to use a keyboard short-cut to "Collapse All Groups", to focus just on "Today" or "Yesterday" easily!

  15. Bring back the display of to: cc: information

Outlook introduced the "less cluttered" email header display.
Now, if you want to know if you are to: or cc: of an email, you have to click on show details.

IMHO, painful and inefficient... but some people may like it.

Suggestion: make the "compact display" optional/configurable or bring back the display of to: cc: by default.

  16. Display multiple shared calendars side-by-side (currently limited to 3) in day view.

I regularly need to view multiple shared calendars (often 8 or 9). This is fine in Outlook for Windows which allows multiple shared calendars to be displayed side-by-side in the day view, but the Mac version limits me to 3 calendars side-by-side. Adding any more merges the content making it much more difficult to identify individuals and schedule activities. I'd like to see the restriction removed to allow multiple calendars to be displayed in individual columns making scheduling across multiple individuals and rooms much easier.

  18. Unread folder (just like windows version)

Unread folder (just like windows version), not a smart folder at the bottom of the list. I have 80-100 subfolders and many, many rules for my incoming email. Having the Unread folder at the top just like the windows version would be much more helpful.
Or, if not possible have the Smart folder option also be a Favorite.
Please at the Favorite star to Smart Folders too.

  20. Fix authorisation problems in Outlook calender for Mac.

If you share calender with an PC Outlook user it won´t work unless you give full authorisation on the PC calender. This is very annoying and would be much appreciated if you could fix.
