  1. (Mac) Allow a default to not save sent items, and checkbox to save

One of my favorite features on the PC version of Outlook 2016 is the ability to set it to not save a copy of sent email by default. 99% of the email messages I send each day are not something I care about ever seeing again; answering questions of an inconsequential nature, yes/no's, etc. For that reason, on the PC version, I set it to not save a copy, and for the few messages per day that do matter, I simply click the button to save to Sent Items. It greatly reduces the clutter of pointless messages in my Sent…

  2. Allow for customization of the Mac powerbook Touch Bar!

I wish I could customize the Touch Bar for Outlook. Other applications allow for customization, so why not Outlook? It would be great if I could place the icons I use most, in a convenient location.
    Thanks!

  4. Add Archive and Retention Policy Management

It's painful that Mac Outlook users need to use either OWA or Windows Outlook to configure Archive or Retention Policies on their mail folders.

  6. Send desktop notifications for folders other than inbox

E.g. KMail allows user to set up each folder (not just Inbox) such that new messages are "acted upon", meaning that desktop notifications will be shown for them. It is a surprising that expensive enterprise product such as MS Office does not have that feature...

  7. Please bring back the tool bar commands for "Expand All Groups" and "Collapse All Groups"

Within Outlook Mail, there used to be tool bar commands for "Expand All Groups" and "Collapse All Groups". Furthermore, I found that I could add a macro to invoke these commands from the keyboard. They're really useful when operating on an inbox that spans more than a month of collective messages. Because Outlook starts with all inbox time groups expanded by default, it is handy to be able to use a keyboard short-cut to "Collapse All Groups", to focus just on "Today" or "Yesterday" easily!

  8. Make it optional for Outlook 2016 for Mac to limit syncing when working on tethered connections.

Currently, with version 16.4.1, when working on a tethered connection, outlook for Mac 2016 does not sync items moved from the inbox to other folders, unless the destination folder itself subsequently is made the active folder or is in the favourites. Most probably, as suggested to me by outlook for Mac support, this limited syncing has been introduced as a feature to save metered bandwidth and improve battery autonomy, but the consequence is that local storage becomes out of sync with the cloud mailbox for mobile professionals.. I suggest to make it possible to turn this highly questionable feature off…

  12. Bring back the display of to: cc: information

Outlook introduced the "less cluttered" email header display.
Now, if you want to know if you are to: or cc: of an email, you have to click on show details.

IMHO, painful and inefficient... but some people may like it.

Suggestion: make the "compact display" optional/configurable or bring back the display of to: cc: by default.

  14. Unread folder (just like windows version)

Unread folder (just like windows version), not a smart folder at the bottom of the list. I have 80-100 subfolders and many, many rules for my incoming email. Having the Unread folder at the top just like the windows version would be much more helpful.
Or, if not possible have the Smart folder option also be a Favorite.
Please at the Favorite star to Smart Folders too.

  16. Send Button on Touchbar still an issue

I have updated my outlook for mac to the latest version, but still have a frequent issue of emails being sent unintentionally due to the location of the touchbar send button.

Please either allow for the customisation of the buttons that are shown on the touchbar - or

Allow for the touchbar to be disabled

  17. Add action "show desktop alert" for filtering rules

It should be possible to setup showing desktop notifications as a response to messages filtered using rules (e.g. moved to folder other than inbox). On of good ways how to do that would be to add action "show desktop alert" as one of the possible actions that will be done in response to matching the rule.

  19. Allow a default setting to show details in the email recipient field

In the new version of Outlook for Mac, the email header fields are condensed and you see the list of recipients as a list. In order to see who the email was sent to, you have to click "Show Details". I have yet to find where I can set it to "Show Details" as default.

I feel that most people in a professional setting will want to know whether the email they are reading was intended for them or if they are just copied. If it's an option for default, those who don't need that detail can still have the…

  20. Allow manipulation of Safe Senders with Outlook for macOS when using Exchange or Office 365 for mail.

When using Outlook for macOS and my organization also uses Office365, I have to login to Office365 to change basic settings like Safe Senders. Kindly fix this inconvenience.
