Limit offline - cached mail
Limit the amount of mail to keep offline, like in the PC version where we can set a date range. We constantly have problems with users with large mailboxes needing to resync giant mailboxes all the time. In the age of gmail, its crazy to tell people they need to wait to sync 40GB of email before Outlook will be usable... for the 2nd time this month

I'm guessing this has not been fixed in Outlook 2019. That is too bad, without this fix there is no way I can use Outlook for Mac. This is really basic functionality that works really well when using G Suite Sync on Windows.

This seems to be a duplicate of this feature request: https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/335538-outlook-for-mac-business/suggestions/16930816-add-mail-to-keep-offline
As I said there: I hope Microsoft are looking at this. These days people don't want an in-place archive, as they want all the mail history in one place so they can easily search for old messages from whichever interface they are using (iOS, Android, OWA, Outlook, etc). This is now possible with mailboxes of 100GB and more. However, most SSD laptops have fairly small storage options, so having the local Outlook client take up 30, 40, or 80GB of the drive is not a sensible option!
If this is not implemented soon MacOS users with large mailboxes will have no choice but to uninstall Outlook and just use OWA.

This is a significant gap - being able to work exclusively online and being able to adjust the offline content is a "must" in my opinion.
For extra fun, add in a shared mailbox to the individual accounts and then you download all that data too! I'd like to disable cache altogether, or at least only cache a few weeks (similar to the Windows setup option).
This is a huge gap in the product. It defeats the purpose of moving to the cloud when the whole cloud mailbox is downloaded to the device anyways.
