Don't change Date sort order when switching to another column sort
Have been using Outlook for Windows for 20+ years so I'm kind of stuck in my ways. Running Outlook for Mac 2016 v15.30 (170107).
Here's a problem that is slightly time consuming, so I'd like to see if I am doing something wrong,
I keep my mail sorted by date, "Z to A" (newest on top). Once in a while, for example, I want to see all messages from a co-worker, or all messages with the same subject (in the same folder). I click on the "From" or "Subject" header and the sort column is changed. That works well but.... when I change the column, the date column sort flips from "Z to A" to "A to Z" . Outlook for Windows (including 2016) always kept the Z to A sort order when when switching sort columns. That's why I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
I realize that a solution is to go into menu View-->Arrange By-->Z on Top. The downside is that, besides "Arrange By" being an extra step, the highlighted message is still the oldest one in the list. Thus I must still scroll up to get to the newest message.
Is there a work around this that I am missing?
