Sync local contacts from Apple Contacts app
EWS is blocked for OS X at most companies because it presents the potential issue of data leakage.
Many companies are taking advantage of Intune's conditional access, but until conditional access supports EWS, many companies disable EWS. Companies do this because EWS sidesteps conditional access when abled and allows all email/calendar/contacts to be downloaded to a devices without any way for the company to enforce security policies simultaneously.
On OS X, it is important to have your contacts in the Apple Contacts app because a Mac basically functions like a cell phone with the ability to make/receive phone calls and send/receive text messages.
Most companies would be ok with contacts syncing to a Mac and I think it would be great if Microsoft could enable Outlook for Mac to just sync contacts to Apple's contacts app.
We're updating the title to indicate this idea is for syncing local contacts from Apple's Contacts app with Outlook. Not syncing with any of the account services that can be added to the Contacts app.
