  1. Fix permissions so that shared calendars don't need "Reviewer" permissions to see titles and locations

Currently, any calendars set to "Can view titles and locations" in OWA are seen in OWA and Apple Calendar.app, but not in Outlook 2016. The only way to see shared calendars in Outlook is for the owner to change permissions to "Can view all details". This makes shared calendars appear in Outlook, but triggers reminders for all users who can see the events.

Fix Outlook for Mac so that shared calendar titles and locations can be viewed when "Can view titles and locations" permissions are set.

  2. Copying calendar items

When I am entering a reoccurring meeting that has no fixed days and intervals you have to enter the calendar items one by one. Copying and then change the date will help enourmously.

  3. Fetch mailbox signature from Outlook Web

The Outlook client should have a way of syncing the email signature from the cloud.

It is important to keep all signature synchronized between all clients, Outlook web, Outlook client, Outlook for mac, Outlook for iOS and so on.

The Exchange Transport Rule is not an ideal fit for this scenario.

  5. Allow color coding of folders, make folders=categories

Sifting through folders and organizing emails is very time-consuming now because you can't color code them, add icons, or visually differentiate them on the sidebar. So when you're looking for which folder to put an email into, it's hard to immediately spot it. Also, folders are limiting because if an email fits in 2 categories, you have to duplicate it and put it in both. Categories, on the other hand, seriously rock because you can quickly tell which one they are because you can assign a color, and because you can give one email multiple categories. I would love to…

  6. enable export from outlook for Mac in anything other than .OLM, which is incompatible with anything other than Mac. How about CSV?

Unless you are in a Mac-only shop, it is impossible to transfer email archives, contacts, etc from one computer to another unless you have an Exchange server - which we do not all have.

  8. Creation of Appointments from Email

In Outlook on Windows I can create an appointment directly from an email. On Mac there's no way to do this, only a meeting, where I am forced to invite someone to it.

In the meeting dialog there's even what appears to be a button in the ribbon to convert to an appointment, but it doesn't do anything.

On Windows there's a button in the ribbon for this, or I can drag the email down to the 'calendar' button at the bottom left.

Every other email client is miles ahead on this, e.g. automatically detecting that an email is about…

  9. Add the ability to copy/paste or export meeting attendees status

When creating large meetings it is difficult to track meeting attendance status. In the Windows version you are able to copy attendee status to the clip board which I can then paste into Excel and build a pivot table to quickly see who has accepted an not responded. When there are more 12 users in the meeting this become very important in a business setting.

    Thank you

  11. Add high contrast themes

As I'm getting older I find it harder to distinguish between very slight differences in contrast and hard to see very light text on light colored background. Please add a high contrast theme to Outlook. The new theme would be especially helpful on the folder list. Best would be capability to have purely black background with white letters or the reverse, white background with black letters. The current white background with light grey letters is killing my eyes.

  12. Blue fonts for unread messages is hard to read

Give options for color or style of unread messages. The default blue is difficult for many people to read.

  15. Allow HTML Signatures

Please add the ability to install HTML email signatures, even if just by making it possible to place .htm files in the Signatures folder.

I can install an HTML email signature in Outlook on Windows, but right now I have to recreate it from scratch to install it on Outlook for Mac, and signatures will not match across my team since it cannot be formatted exactly the same.

  16. Block ability to Archive Emails to Mac

Provide a mechanism to restrict users from archiving emails locally to their Mac. Many corporations restrict this on PC's with PST files and we need a way to do this as Macs continue to grow in the Enterprise environment.

  17. Conversation thread cleanup

In office 2010 there was a feature to clean up older emails in a thread. Rather than having 15 emails, in a conversation, it would easily delete older ones which were still able to be found as part of a "reply". That way you could easily reduce and cleanup duplicates of emails.

  18. Update Modern Authentication for macOS High Sierra (10.13)

Enable 'keychain-access-groups' entitlements in your Xcode build to allow modern auth with client certificates in Outlook for High Sierra.
Trying to log into our SSO portal, I'm asked to select my client certificate for auth, but then taken to a 'access denied' screen. Outlook doesn't have permissions to access other items in the keychain in it's entitlements, so it can't access the cert.

I see secd errors in Console.app all day.

  20. CTK Support

Outlook currently only supports smart card authentication when using legacy frameworks that are not included in macOS. This requires use of third-party software in order to authenticate to a mail server using a client certificate from a smart card. Apple is now including smart card support in macOS with CryptoTokenKit (CTK). Microsoft Outlook should include support for CTK to allow use of smart cards for authentication without the need for third party software.
