Good news. This bug has been addressed in the March production release of Outlook for Mac (version 16.11).

The issue fixed was if the default time zone for your Mac observes daylight saving time (DST) and Week view is selected, you may see events shifted by one hour on the calendar grid for the week when DST starts.

    Thanks,
    Outlook for Mac team

  2. Add Preference to Disable/Enable Left-Right Swiping in Mailbox

Users with a Magic Mouse/TrackPad have likely experienced, as I have, that when selecting messages in a mailbox (Inbox, drafts, Sent, etc.), it is far too easy to swipe left or right and show the options to "Delete" or "Archive" a message. I'm sure this is necessary on a mobile device, but on a desktop device using an input like Magic Mouse, it is really annoying. It could also be potentially dangerous if you accidentally Delete or Archive a message unknowingly.

There should be an preference/option to disable that swiping gesture from the message list.

  3. Signature Editor - Export/Import

As described in my detailed post (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_mac-mso_o365b/outlook-2016-mac-signatures-how-to-export-import/1bfa4b27-4ea4-46c1-8263-c92ae557b277) the Signature editor in Outlook for Mac 2016 needs an import/export feature. It is very difficult to format a signature because there is no real "editor" in the tiny window, no way to easily choose fonts, colors, styles, etc. And the copy/paste of HTML content is very buggy and often ends up looking terrible.

It is possible, with a lot of work and careful tweaking, to create a halfway-decent looking signature. However - there is no way to "back up" or transfer this to another machine, so you basically have to…

Good news. Starting in the April production release (version 16.12) there is an improved signature editor in Outlook for Mac, addressing this key piece of feedback:

“It is very difficult to format a signature because there is no real “editor” in the tiny window, no way to easily choose fonts, colors, styles, etc. "

Please refer to the Outlook Blog on Tech Community for more details:
    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Outlook-Blog/Outlook-for-Mac-adds-improved-signature-editor-in-Insider-Fast/ba-p/173313

We are marking this suggestion as Completed for the improved editor functionality. If you still require import and export of signatures, please open a new suggestion for consideration.

    Thanks,
    Outlook for Mac team

  5. I suggest you make it possible to adjust the font size in the email list pane and the folder list pane.

I read email with the reading pane below so I can see the subject, from, to, and date received, clearly. But because the fonts are so large I cannot display more than ten listed emails. In my non-Outlook client I can see 30. The same is true for my folders list. Smaller font makes more visible on the screen

Good news. Beginning in the March production release of Outlook for Mac (version 16.11), you can now increase or decrease the text size in the sidebar, message list, and reading pane. Go to Preferences > Fonts > Text display size to select a smaller or larger text size.

  6. In meeting attendee's calendar, meeting time should show attendee's time zone instead of meeting organizer's time zone

When attendee opens the meetings in the Calendar folder in Mac Outlook, the meeting time is shown in meeting organizer's time zone instead of the attendee's time zone.

Good news. Beginning in the March production release of Outlook for Mac (version 16.11), when viewing a meeting in a separate window, the start and time will be displayed in the attendee’s time zone instead of the organizer’s time zone. The organizer’s time zone will be displayed in an information bar below the meeting header.

    Thanks,
    Outlook for Mac team

  7. drag and drop attachments from email

The new updates have removed the ability to drag and drop attachments from emails. The windows version still has this. I should be able to drag an attachment to another email without downloading it or drag and drop the attachment to the desktop.

  8. Honor OS X Do Not Disturb setting

OS X has a Do Not Disturb feature in the notification panel. Outlook ignores the setting. I usually turn on OS X DND when I'm on a call.
At the moment, I have to close Outlook to be sure no sounds pop up.
Outlook should honor the OS X DND setting and mute itself appropriately.

  9. Remove Send button from Touch Bar

MS has started to integrate the touch bar into the Office suite- which is awesome. I’ve seen some improvements to my workflow. However, the last update has added a “send” button to Outlook. In the last two days, I have accidently sent several messages while still composing. MS needs to allow configuration of the touch bar, or move/remove the send button ASAP.

  11. New message in bold and blue

Since the update from last monday of Outlook (now 15.32) for Mac the incoming mail is now in font medium and black in stead of bold and blue. Can you please change it back to bold and blue? Also there is a line between the mails that doesn't make it easier to watch.

Good news. Starting in the April production release of Outlook for Mac (version 16.12), week numbers are now displayed for month view and in the mini-calendar in the sidebar in addition to day, week, and work week views.

Please refer to the release notes for more information:

  13. Drag and Drop email to create new item

On the Windows based version of Outlook, you can drag and drop emails to either the calendar, tasks, or contacts to create new items. The subject of the email becomes the calendar or task subject and the body of the email goes in the notes field.
Bring this functionality to the Mac version so that drag and dropping of emails works to other areas of Outlook.

  14. Add favorites section.

I use a lot of Outlook rules to have mail "Skip my inbox" and go directly to another folder. In outlook 2013 for PC, I can easily keep track of incoming mail to those folders by populating the "FAVORITES" section with each of those sub-folders. In Outlook 2016 for Mac, I have to make sure my ENTIRE folder structure is expanded and constantly scroll through it to make sure I haven't missed anything. Please add the "Favorites" feature as it's one of the only things keeping me from being productive.

  15. favourites

I want to see favourites on my mac the same as on my pc. I have many email accounts and i want to choose what/how many i see by default. Seeing all inboxes is really distracting for me now on mac 2016.

Good news. Beginning in the March production release of Outlook for Mac (version 16.11), you can now view two time zones in the calendar grid. Go to Preferences > Calendar > Time zones to select the second time zone.

Note: this feature is available via Office 365 subscription license activation.

Please refer to the release notes article here:

  17. Private events from shared calendars does not show

For over half a year at least this native Exchange feature hasn't worked in Office 365 on Outlook 2011 and 2016.

  18. The Format Painter

I'd like to dedicate my Outlook for Mac - buisness votes to this feature also detailed here https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/293343-outlook-for-mac/suggestions/14894964-format-painter

As the support page FAQ says, it is not yet available. https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Format-email-messages-in-Outlook-2016-for-Mac-cb35806b-4174-41d2-9cba-b6b624d988b3?ui=en-US&rs=en-GB&ad=GB

Having just transitioned to mac from windows I think this is the thing a actually miss most. So many valuable minutes wasted trying to match fonts.

The OneNote team has started pushing out the new OneNote O365 add-in in production. It will be a gradual rollout that will happen over the 2nd quarter of 2019. This add-in will support sending mails and events (meetings) to your notebooks.

    Thanks!
