Flagged emails should not be yellow in inbox in Microsoft Outlook 2016
Flagged emails should not be defaulted to yellow highlight as well as the red flag. This should be an optional function turned on/off or provide an option to make it an optional feature.
We recently shipped a setting to disable the yellow message highlight. It is slowly rolling out to subscription users. The setting is in the Options dialog, Mail tab, Other category: “Highlight flagged items in the message list”.

Thank you for posting the instructions on how to disable the new feature. I actually appreciate the feature, but the default yellow color is UGLY. Would prefer an option to choose the highlight color.
I checked the box to turn off the highlighting but they're still all yellow! Very distracting. Please fix.
Latest Outlook Version no longer allows you to hide the recipient and attachments list. What a waste of space now. This is not helpful on laptop screens. Please restore this functionality.
HATE HATE HATE the yellow highlighting of past due or flagged emails. Please give users the option to turn this OFF!
There is NO setting under File/Options/Mail, etc. and I have the latest software! It somehow reverted back because I had highlights last week!
There is no such other category selection that allows me to get the yellow highlight back! It disappeared this morning!
What an annoying new "feature."
Flags already draw your attention to an email, why would you want to do it a second time, but in a much more intrusive way.
Please please please roll back this feature or at least turn it off by default.
Please make this an option - the yellow is too distracting!
I unchecked the 'highlight flagged items' as suggested, but it does NOT work. My flagged emails are still highlighted! Annoying!

This new update with highlighting in yellow, flagged messages is extremely annoying. I believe it should not be included in the update by default and that it should be the customer´s choice if they wish to have this view.
We would thus greatly appreciate if you could improve the office experience by allowing this flexibility.

The new option doesn't work....
The setting doesn't work. I unchecked the box to remove the yellow highlighting and nothing happens. The problem is not fixed.
I'm using v2003 12624.20466
Go to File -> Options ->Mail ->Other ( scroll to the bottom )
Uncheck "Highlight flagged items in the message list"
Disabling the option in Mail > Other > Highlight flagged items has no impact for me.

The “Highlight flagged items in the message list” option works if the message list is on the left (reading pane on the right). However if you have the folder pane on top (reading pane on the bottom) the feature reverts back to highlighting them yellow. As usual **** poor coding and testing on MS part, par for course.
please take yellow off
items are already flagged + assigned to color categorie + red if past ... there is enough colors - just looking at my mailbox is really oppressing
Mine has only now started doing this and it is very unhelpful as instead of clear flag colours supporting prioritising everything is just yellow, is there anyway to turn it off?
Please read, people: I pointed out that the bug that causes the option to remove the yellow highlight on flagged messages to not work has been fixed in version 2002 (Build 12527.20194). Just update your Outlook - as you should always do before filing a bug report, since problems might be resolved in a later version.
