Start appointments and meetings delayed
Since Januar 2019 we have the calendar options to end an appointment early. It would be nice to also delay the start time by e.g. 5 minutes.

Would like to request the "start meetings late" option as well for 2 reasons:
1. A meeting that ends early tends to spillover onto last few minutes that are obviously not used for a meeting. Having the first minutes reserved makes sure everybody gets their break
2. Due to (1) "start meetings late" is my org's policy, would appreciate Outlook to support this

I've started doing this manually and it is much better behavior driver than ending early (which never really works). Now that everyone is working remote for the foreseeable future and meeting volume is up, being able to build time in between meetings is crucial.

I've tried all combinations - start late, end early, and both on the same meeting (ex. 40-45m. meeting). Starting late works best. Agreed "even" deadlines are easier. It's easier to remember "oh, I have an extra 5 minutes" before the meeting than to keep track of having to stop at '3:50' while deep in a discussion.
This is needed ( I do this manually). Reason being that while I can END my meetings early thus let people have time to join the next meeting which starts sharp I can't control when OTHERS end their meeting. Thus people will be late from my meetings as the previous meeting ends sharp (because they haven't used the "end early" option). So it makes much more sense to start meeting for example 11:03 when people can join in in and not be right away late.

I have not seen ending appointment and meetings early working in practice. Usually the meetings continue until everyone actually absolutely needs to leave for the next meeting, no matter whether the meeting was set to end 5 or 10 minutes early.
While that is not the fault of Outlook but of the meeting chair for running the meeting poorly, having the ability to start late would make the life of the meeting chair easier, as the meeting won't be able to start properly unless all relevant people have arrived.

I came here intending to post the same thing. In my experience, meetings are more likely to run long than they are to end early plus humans prefer "even" deadlines.
In other words, a meeting scheduled 1:30-1:55pm is much more likely to end at 2pm or even a bit over. Conversely, for a meeting scheduled 1:35-2pm, there's no incentive to begin early since all participants won't be there...especially since their previous meeting is probably running over its planned 1:30pm ending.

Das wäre super, wenn der default start auf 5 Minuten Verzögerung gestellt werden könnte.
