Allow user to disable "Top Results"
Currently search of email includes "top results" at the top of the search list even when the list is sorted by date. This is a terrible feature in a business setting where it is important to reply to the most recent email in a thread.
The option "Show most relevant search results on top" should disable this feature, but does not.
Option to disable Top Results is available under File → Options → Search → “Show most relevant search results on top”

Top results is almost as annoying as ads as it is not useful and haa random and irrelevant emails film years ago that have nothing to do with the actual search. please include an option in the settings to disable it.

It isn't helpful to have three emails arbitrarily removed from the chronological list when trying to follow the thread of a series of emails. It would be very helpful if this feature could be disabled by the user, or preferably by policy.
Please get rid of this, ASAP. Whoever decided to implement this without an on/off, I swear...

User asking how to do this. I cannot tell them how. Some claim it's under File|Options|Search, but there is no such option there in version 1908 (Build 11929.20562 Click-to-Run).
STOP SHOWING TOP RESULTS!! I selected "sort by date". Showing other ARBITRARY RESULTS is NOT what I asked the software to do! I have also noticed that sometimes hits appearing in "top results" DO NOT appear below in the "sort by dates" results. So Microsoft has broken something simple and good by adding a feature that I did not ask for or want. HOW DO I DISABLE THIS. If you don't eliminate it, please default it to OFF in future releases.

You'll get a +1 vote from me for disabling "top results" in the search results. I want to see all results chronologically, from newest to oldest. Whatever logarithm you're using to suggest "top" results doesn't follow the same logic my human brain uses.
Absolutely agree. My business mailbox is not a social media site.

This feature should be disabled by default. If people want it then they should opt in (not opt out). It is complelety illogical that I ask the system to sort by date, and then the system puts top results on top that are not sorted by date.
Another approach is to allow users to sort by top results.
This is a really bad feature as it is implemented.
+1, should have an option to turn off this option.
Not having the option to remove this "top results" is extremely annoying
+1, I Never us the top results. It ends up wasting space. Just give the users the ability to disable this. PLEASE.
+1, just had a user reach out about this. Things like this should not be implemented without a toggle.
