Make categories searchable
I use Outlook, for both mail, calendar and contacts, often the category labels to bring order. However these are not searchable. It's a powerful feature especially if you use it when searching. It would be nice if there is a box where you can search the category * * * * quickly by typing a few letters, especially if you use many categories.

Also be great to have pattern matching, suggested categories - based on previous labelling, keywords

When I search Categoried is an icon on my Search toolbar that allows for me to choose one, any, or no categories. If I want multiple I have to do it one at a time and then put 'and' or 'or' between the criteria.

Please allow categorizing by typing and look up. Identical as the web version

There actually is a way to accomplish that kind of search - see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_win10-mso_2016/outlook-2016-how-to-find-all-items-with-a-category/698633d1-35f9-45cb-a8b9-8ece7660667e
Unfortunately there is no way you could pick a category from a list, thus you HAVE TO be precise.
Simple? No way. More kind of a suicide guide.Sorry to say: inspire by google labels, 'cause the current CATEGORIES business (assigning, searching) is not intuitive at all.
