I'd love to be able to add notes for myself to emails when I file them. Something that would not forward if I reply later.
Something like sticky note that you could attach to an email, but would not forward with the email when you reply. (for user's eyes only).
Would be especially helpful if I could attach relevant files when filing emails (w/o sending a new email) or attach/connect other email chains so I could easily keep all relevant information together.
YES PLEASE.....TWO years later and still nothing like this, adding a personal "note to self" to a saved/filed email is available?????
This is a must I think. I have been searching for a way to get this achieved and cant figure anything out except for creating more sub folders. Someone below said they edit the email? Edit an inbox email? cant figure that out either?!
I was looking for exactly something like this. Short of using hyperlinks which would go with the e-mail when responding later i found nothing so this would be great!
In the interim I use an old school method. I put info above the e-mail body by using the edit function. Then to keep it somewhat to myself I change the text to a very light grey that is barely readable. Fortunately this is not "private" info. The original suggestion would be heavenly.
I was going to suggest this myself... I get a lot of emails that have to sit in my inbox or ones that I file within Outlook. I would love the ability to add Comments/notes to myself attached to the email for so many reasons: remind myself of the email importance, give background/context, create an action plan on it, make notes on it as new information comes in relating to that email/action etc

This is really a great idea. I wanted to post this remark myself, but obviously I'm not the only one with this concern. I tried to develop some kind of system were I added my comments in OneNote to mails, but working on two platforms for the same purpose was really timeconsuming.
Hope Microsoft support takes this idea to development team.
I would love this option myself. I've searched for this in the past with no result so I have to go through the process to edit the email to add a "note" but I have to make sure that if I forward, reply, save, and/or print, that I remove the note I added.

I've been wanting this for years! Matthew, yes! To "add note" to where you can remind yourself why it's still sitting in your inbox, but don't have to worry about your edits going onto the next receiver.
Love this idea!!

Me to. If we can hover the mouse pointer over the email and it has a small pop up note that we've right click "add note" done earlier. Is Microsoft reading these suggestions?
I agree that this is a really important requirement that should be added to Outlook. I often find myself wanting to write myself a note about an email, i.e. just for myself, and not wanting any of the recipients to see it.
