IMAP categories
Allow categories for IMAP email messages; this can be with local folder category settings or using the categories of a connected Exchange/MAPI folder if it is selected as the default folder.
I'm trying to switch to Inbox Zero, but since a unified Inbox is not really possible because I do not get Send As delivery of connected accounts in Outlook.com, I can at least use color categories in my IMAP accounts.

Please add the color category option back into the calendar, such that if I right click on an appointment or meeting, I can choose a color to help me organize it. I love the color option and feel like I cannot function without it! Please bring it back. I wanted it so much I reconfigured my gmail account to be a pst, but now I lost all the calendar items I had posted in my IMAP account.

At least, it should be allowed to use categorization of calendar items when the calendar is local -while still listed under an IMAP mailbox.
This is inconsistent as no calendar data is sent to the IMAP server.
Categorization should be available for any Outlook local folder even when associated under an IMAP email account. -

Categories in IMAP is currently hobbled and creates numerous problems. I had a rule create categories for incoming IMAP emails - and the rule went though me entire email folder creating 100's of tagged emails - unfortunately I had selected the incorrect tag. Sure my mistake. Resolving this required to open EACH email separately and clearing the category. Because the tag options on the context menu and the ribbon are disabled for IMAP I had no choice to do it this way. Please provide full functionality for categories on all email types. This is an obvious marketing driven design decision (poorly implemented, I might add) that is simply causing grief for users. I googled this - and I'm not alone.

When using Outlook to access IMAP email accounts such as Gmail, can Outlook Categories map/sync to Gmail Labels? That way, categories applied to email messages can be sync'ed to the (Gmail) server and would be viewed the same when accessed from different PC's.
