Link emails to tasks
A simple drag and drop option to link emails to a task, currently i create tasks by either flagging an email for follow up (then i can't edit the task easily) or by creating a new task (can't link emails related to the task). if i could create a task and then drag the email to link to it, when i open the task i can quickly see all related communications. any other emails in the conversation would automatically link up also

It would be a massive time saver to have email conversations linked to tasks so that once a new email (or my reply to an email) related to the conversation is added, it is updated automatically in the task. At the moment, once you've attached an email, it's a static attachment and you have to search Mail to find the latest email to respond to, which is a process that could be more efficient.

When you make task from an email then there should be a link to go back to the original email as we have in google tasks when we make a task. I use gmail and the gmail sync utility with outlook. Would prefer to use Outlook as the email client on PC but for the mobile the Gmail app works better. So if this functionality can be added then if I add tasks from gmail app in google tasks I can also refer to the email when my tasks are getting synced.
There is actually a way to drag an email into an existing task, but it is cumbersome and involves setting up a way to make the task not disappear when you click on the email. I tried opening two version of outlook and putting them side by side, and then opening tasks on one side and looking through emails on the other side. I don't like the drag and drop idea. I'd just like to have an option from the email to attach it to an existing task and then pull up a choice of existing tasks in a list.
I also want this. It would be an extremely useful tool for people trying to use Outlook to stay organized.

Yes, I agree. Many of my tasks include a lot of email communication in order to complete them and it would be helpful to have a way to group all the messages related to a particular task together.
