This would be a real timesaver. Instead of manually copying all contact information there should be a right click option on a mail signature to automatically creat the contact.

I was already convinced that I am the only one that is so stupid and cannot find the emails of my 8200 contacts. In all the older email programs like hotmail it was automatically done. Unbelievable. Why not make Outlook more intelligent???

There have been more than a few third party companies doing this for a few years, some paid, some free. Even the paid services are a little wonky.
It should be a standard baked in feature. -

microsoft could use some AI to extract everthing needed automatically from every email footer received to a import contact section - it's really annoying to do this manually through copy&paste.

if you open an emai or response AI should read the Signatur of the email and should ask for creating a new or updateing a contact if necessary

I can't believe they don't have this feature already! It seems ridiculous that we have to cut and paste every line!

I suggest they hire some teenagers and 80 + year olds to test their junk. I am 84 & have been doing computers about 50 years and they get worse every year. I have no idea who to have it work like Hotmail. In Hotmail it opens and there we can choose wich place we want to go to, with different names and passwords. Here with Outlook we need a BOOK LEARNED xxxx to set it up for us.

I thought I was missing something but apparently not. Outlook should parse the signature automatically putting in company name, title etc etc. I work in a business, my contacts work in businesses and I have to jump through hoops to get their contact info into my database? Ridiculous.

"Highlight > RIght click > Create contact or Add to existing contact" OPTION needed.
Creating contacts in outlook is painfully long compared to other platforms.

This would be a great tool, time saving and very effective. By right-clicking it should convert to a contact.

why don't we use AI to identify within an e-mail whether the contact is already a known contact? If not, let Outlook automatically suggest to add the person as a new contact and use the signature within the mail so you do not have type all the information but they are actually automatically put into the form within contacts.

This would be great if you could select the signature and right click to convert into a contact!

It is easy to do this already.....(well almost!!) Simply, drag and drop the new contacts email to the contact folder - it will then open a new contact card and populate most of the data, then you can copy and paste the rest of the data from the notes section.
give it a try!

It's brutally time consuming to cut and paste or manually type in info to the contact fields. New projects mean a large number of new contacts to track. Existing contacts change jobs or relocate offices as a frequent occurrence. An accurate contact database is the life blood of a company. Allowing an easy means of field recognition input from electronic cut and paste would be a great productivity enhancement.
BTW, I was a devoted CardScan user prior to its discontinuation and found the copy and scan features an invaluable time saver. Using Outlook Contacts feels almost like going back to a paper rolodex. Would love to see improvements.

It would be really good if i was able to highlight a signature from an email i was forwarded on and just be able to right click and add to contacts, and the information be added to the new contact form (even if it was as best fit). As you can not just add the details with a simple right click, like you can to someone that sent you the email in the first place.

Copy 2 Contact is making money with this idea. There product is good but it's a shame (and embarrassing for Microsoft) that I have to buy this capability from a third party when both 'contacts' and 'email' is already a part of Outlook. C2C also allows you to create an new Outlook Contact from any highlighted text; IE: websites, PDF, etc...

Well I would add one thing, to grab as well the company Logo as it sometimes helps to visualize who is who

It would certainly streamline the process if I could trigger a contact file from the signature in an email. The less strokes I make the more productive.
