Improvements to Task Quick View in Outlook 2016
The task quick view (4th of 5 icons in the bottom left corner) could benefit from a few small improvements that greatly improve productivity.
I should be able to mark tasks done just from the quick view
I should be able to multi-select and bulk edit these tasks through a right click
Clicking on the task title should take me to the email associated with it
Abstract Spoon's ToDoList I believe has everything anyone could ever want in a to do list app (minus cloud access). There are many apps out there to tackle this but I have found employers are not willing to allow these apps on their systems. The one's existing in office today are subpar with functionality and tracking capabilities. Even if Microsoft wants to develop it they should reference this app by Abstract Spoon.
1. I use the preview panel in the bottom. There is still an envelope icon for replied and forwarded messages, so why there is none for un-read messages? In this compact view there is no blue bar and thus the un-read messages are not clearly visible. Please add either the envelope icon or blue bar similar to other views.
2. The fields „To“ and „CC“ are very important, but when the preview panel is in the bottom, it unnecessarily consumes lots of useful spaces. Please move it to the right side, ther is plenty of unused space.
3. Why the attachment has to consume 2 lines only to show its size in kB (on a single line)? Check the Outlook 2007, it has the size in a bracket so then the view is nicely compact.
4. Please turn on the folders icons, i tis more convenient if you need to work with sub-folders.
Add the ability to create check boxes, check them, and remove them by pressing "clt-1", just like in OneNote. This would allow subtasks to be checked off within the body field of a task.
