Countdown clock for important events (for example 31 days until exam) as a daily flag on the calendar
for example a note on each day that states # of days until an event, such as year-end reporting, or exams, or big events. Also, should have a place to put the number of the week of the year. Many corporate calendars have a number for each week of the fiscal year and refer to deadlines by that week.

but also for recurring events ie every 14 Calendar days
There should be an option for each individual event that you create in your outlook calendar that you can click on to add it to a Countdown Calendar (similar to the current option to add a Reminder for individual events) that can then be a Live Tile on your desktop and Phone Wallpaper. It would be extremely useful to see a list of important events that I have coming up, always on my desktop screen, with the time remaining (days, hours, mins) until each event. It amazes me that there isn't one available that will work with Outlook.
I would appreciate to be able to automatically add a task on each day before the important event - so that e.g. you can tick it off when you have completed the amount of work you wanted to do on that day.
I agreed with this, this would be a very useful widget.
I would also like to go a step further and that you can have the option within tasks/reminders or calendar that you can tick a box to email youself on the day/time that you want to be reminded about.
How many times have I set up a reminder and it doesn't pop up or make a noise for what ever reason, only to find I have missed the deadline. If, when it was due, it emailed yourself, you would see it in your inbox for sure.
This would be cool in the calendar for outlook but this should be ecosystem wide and fed by MS To Do (configurable of course)
