Recurring meetings: Option to end recurrence and preserve prior meeting occurrences
I'd prefer to keep the history of my past tasks and whereabouts, so I would like an option to "remove only future meetings in this series"
Provide a feature to cancel a recurring meeting with future meetings only and don't lose the history on the Calendar.

This is such a desperately required feature, option to change/cancel future occurrences. Why is it taking so long to implement?

The ability to change all future occurrences, but NO past ones on a recurring meeting is so needed! I need to make changes to a recurring event that is nearly a decade old - applying any updates to future occurrences would also change every single past occurrence over the last ten years. There are 100s of single events in the recurring event with individual descriptions, time changes, etc. and all of that data would be lost. It's 2020, we can do better.

This should also apply to meetings that you have been invited to!

Same for changing recurring meetings!
Simply do it like Goggle Calendar does!

Simply make it as easy to handle as Google Calendar does! Give us a choice whether to change / delete
- all occurencies
- future occurencies (new feature)
- single occurencies -

The issue can't solved changing the end-date to a day after the last meeting because outlook would reset all the past according to the last meeting dates and timing. We need to keep track of the past because several events of the series might have been changed.
Really need one more option as mentioned by Daniel so to define a specific time range when cancelling a recurrent meeting. Is Microsoft team working on it? I see this issue recurrent in several forums.

This is mission critical, as sometimes the past occurrences should not change and should not be removed. For example: to be able and trace your actions for legal issues: Calendar is something people go back to when they suppose to testify on past events that occurred. Inability to trace the past, might lead to suing Microsoft for removing past data trace...

This is so frustrating. It is such an obvious and necessary functionality.

When deleting a recurring calendar event, provide the option to "Delete this and following events", so that previous events that have already happened remain on the calendar.

The workaround is changing the end-date of the occurrence to a day after the last meeting. This way it cancels the remaining occurrences and leaves all of the old ones...

YES YES YES YES...
This is such a problem, it's beyond a joke - had a 2 year weekly meeting with no end date...
Some meetings in the schedule were deleted, some were changed as individual edits...
We then needed to change the date and the organiser sent an update - I accidently accepted from iOS and the entire history was deleted, but, the same would have happened in Outlook and has happened to me on many occasions.
We need the ability - Server level - not just Outlook to lock all past/completed entries by default so any sort of change only affects future appointments.

I agree having an "End recurrence" or any kind of "Change this series only into the future" option is something that is a big pet peeve of mine. I like being able to look back at my calendar and know how I spent my time on a particular day.
currently the way you need to do this is by putting an end date in the recurrences settings

Along this same line, when I add or remove recipients to an existing meeting series of my own, or accept/decline someone else's series, I want Outlook to be smart enough only to modify future occurrences of the series.

another possibility to do this is to allow the recipient of the cancellation to select "remove future occurrences" in addition to or instead of "remove from calendar". This approach will give the actual calendar owner control over their calendar - which is where it belongs

not having this feature [easily accessible] is an absurd!!

Indeed, it is already available if you are a Mac user...come on Microsoft, this shouldn't even need to be voted on, it should have already been done!!!

This feature should have been added long ago ... what's the delay?

I'd also like to have this feature (deleting all future instances of recurring meeting, without loosing past exceptions).
