Provide a feature to sort Inbox by Flag Status or Categories in Microsoft Outlook 2016
Provide a feature to sort Inbox or all folders by Flag Status or Categories in Microsoft Outlook 2016 (checked, unchecked, no flag). It should be different than grouping option in the inbox, as we have to go through the menu every time we want to use that view, whereas other fields (like flag due date, date, sender etc.) are instantly available to sort on. Also this should apply to or at least provide an option if an end user wants to apply this to Group Conversations as well.
Currently flagged items can be sorted into Flagged, Complete, Not Flagged. It would be beneficial if we don’t have Completed Items listed at the top as we are already done with them. It should be flagged, then any other status

Yes flags can be a bit useless currently as when you sort by flag status you do not see conversations. Why implement this feature if your doing to do it half *****. We need conversations in flag status sorting. This is the number one reason flag status sorting is just bad. This should have been sorted months ago.

Allow Flagged items up top, while still in conversation grouping. Also remove items from the top when the flag is marked complete.

Agreed! Please make conversation view available when grouping by flag status.
Ordenar lista de tareas pendientes por categoría
Sort to-do list by category
The pending task list option should also allow sorting by category. The idea is to be able to sort, for example, all my pending tasks by due date and category, so having several pending in a day or week will be easier to manage.
Allow sorting of the inbox by flag status. This was previously available but has been eliminated in more recent updates. The absence of this feature causes problems tracking emails saved because they require action.
Sort order for flagged items is now, flagged, complete, not flagged. That doesn't make sense, I don't want complete Items to show at the top, I'm done with them. It should be flagged, then any other status. I on;y want the flagged ones to show at the top, the complete ones I am done with
Even the Level 3 tech support couldn't believe there was no sorting of flagged items (chronologically of course) in the inbox. It used to be my favorite and most useful way of sorting. Why would you take that away? Please reset that option
Outlook can display flagged INDIVIDUAL emails for me just fine.
However I don't want to just see the individual email that I flagged 1 month ago and maybe even remember perfectly. What I want to see is the whole CONVERSATION that has been evolving since then so I can quickly get up to speed on any developments (e.g. a client responding to me, a colleague responding to the client etc) before I respond/act on it.
Currently if I want to follow up on an important conversation, I can't get the whole thing from my task list or by filtering flagged emails. I have to search for it in my inbox to get the entire conversation thread. This really limits the power of the flag feature and the conversation view. It's the main limitation of Outlook actually, which is unfortunate since there are so many other features I really like! But this really becomes noticeable when you're dealing with high email volume.
This used to be an option in Outlook 2003. I don't know why it was removed. It was nice to be able to quick and easily bring flagged items to the top of the list. The current options bring all flagged items - even completed items - to the top of the list. This is useless if you have many completed items because they drown out the incomplete items.
As it is today, we have to do a custom sort, which requires too many steps and needs to be repeated every time we re-sort the list. Please give us the option to sort by flag status again, or at least give us the ability to add our own custom sort options to the list of quick sort options. I've already missed too many flagged items because there isn't a good way to find them.

I try to maintain a zero inbox . Using categories to separate to status/action.
If I sort according to categories, I lose the very useful threads as conversations view, showing the thread in the category group if any of the emails contains the given category.
Also it would be nice to allow to quick set a category on the conversations and have it apply on the latest email in the thread only.

Seems crazy that I can't easily get my flagged email conversations to stay at the top of my inbox. I should be able to flag a whole conversation with one click and have my inbox view keep flagged conversations on the top. I have tried using categories to achieve the same effect, but it is more cumbersome than flags and still does not keep conversations together. I expect many people like me use their inboxes as a to do list. Let us use it that way by being able to effortlessly flag our highest priority emails for immediate action and have them stay at the top of the inbox until completed.
The feature I miss the most in Outlook 2016 is the possibility (as seen in the old Windows Live Mail and other clients) to have a view that shows easily the messages you have flagged in a proper cronological order. The "Task List" doesn´t really do it, I still don't know which items are the latest, and anyway that is not a view, you have to "leave" your inbox in order to show that. In Windows Live Mail (yes, it was my favourite client, it was so simple and worked so well) you could choose to show that view together with others by just marking a control box. Would it be possible to introduce something like that?
To Linda: This is already possible, but only when you sort by clicking on the flag graphic via the sort column. So sort by Received then flag using the sort columns, NOT by using Views from the Menu Ribbon.
If you use the preview pane on the right or left, you may need to expand the message list area to see the flag column.
It would be nice to be able to pin the flagged messages so that they stay at the top even after sorting. This way we can keep track of them and make sure to follow up on these particular subjects.

Outlook 2013 folder search results showed the flag status for each email. This has disappeared in Outlook 2016. One has to click the flag symbol in the Refine section after running a search. Why making something very straightforward more complicated? Please bring the 2013 feature back!
Add a new view of your inbox by "Changing Views". This worked for me.
When you sort by flagged items, you lose conversation view. I like to see all my flagged items on top but also see the conversation thread it's been in.

It would also be really helpful if completed items (flag = complete) were sorted to be last. So flagged items (to be done) are first, new items (no flag) are next, and completed item (complete) are then pushed out of view. Current workflow puts to-dos first, then completed items second, and items to be triaged right at the bottom. It's just not good flow.

Please provide an option to see flagged Outlook items as a delegate. And show them in apps like To Do and why not showing them in the Outlook app for iPhone and Android?
