Bring back sorting for All/Unread/Mentions and Arrange By quick sorting by Date, Size, etc.
In the latest update the view change to consolidate to a singular "All" dropdown that allows you to choose between the former All, Unread, Mentions and then to easily Sort with Arrange By. For many users the expanded view is preferred and more easily accessible. If that could be made a view option, or a toggle feature I think that would be a functionality improvement
Note from the Outlook Team: We have posted a Known Issue about this change with some explanation and possible solutions, https://support.office.com/en-us/article/All-Mail-and-Unread-Mail-tab-options-no-longer-show-in-Outlook-ecdfda13-bdc1-42e2-a77b-c18f6f291fe1?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US.
Update from the Outlook team: We’ve brought back the All and Unread filters for the inbox folder, as well as made enhancements to the sorts and filters menu. As a note, Focused and Other pivots will take priority over All and Unread when opted in to Focused Inbox.
These changes should be available for all users with Version 1802 (Build 9001.2138) and above.

Please bring this back
Email sorting should not be a chore, and it especially should not be a step backwards in usability from previous versions. I really should not have to click over to the view tab to sort, then click back to the Home tab to reply. Why make it so hard??
What can I say? I don't know who makes the decisions in Microsoft regarding "upgrades", but they need get reassigned to a less effective position. As someone below said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And lose the desire to add bells and whistles that nobody cares about. You had a useful product in the past. Losing the ability to quickly sort costs people time and companies money. Your goal should be to create software that makes people more efficient. Please fix this and several other noted issues, then leave well enough alone. If the program works, nobody is going to complain if you go 5 years or more without a new and "improved" version.
Microsoft is so FREAKING FRUSTRATING it makes me sick. I just got Outlook 2016 on a new computer. No surprise, it looks much different than the previous version. Why? So far I have found no improvements. I have to hunt to find some commands that I previously used. Where is the **** manual that explains how to use it? I just stumbled by accident on this feedback option which wasn't there before. Were you hoping nobody could find it so you hid it? So now we have menu items on the left, at the top, and now on the right. Why??? Keep ALL menu items at the top where they can be easily found like you had a few revisions back!! I never know where to look to find them. Oh, and your help menu item is absolutely helpless. It takes me to some standard BS for Outlook 365 which I do not have and will not have, and it has nothing remotely similar to the question that I typed in. What a waste.

This feature was an essential time saver for an entire generation of Outlook users. People in my office are constantly complaining and asking where it is... It needs to be restored or at least we should have the option to turn it back on.
HI. Can you just bring back that sort section. If it aint broken dont try to fix it please.

This is ridiculous. I used that bar all the time, particularly to view unread emails. At the very least it should be an option to display the bar. You used to be able to customize all your toolbars in Office, but as time goes on you are removing or hiding more and more features with less and less ability to customize the UI.
Needs to be rolled back ASAP, highly annoying that it was removed without the option to turn it back on for users who deal with high volumes of email each day
Here is a Blog post I created that provides a workaround for now. Hopefully Microsoft still reverts this!
Truly miss this sorting ability and was shocked to see it go as it worked so well with common functionalities used everyday.

please bring it back...its very annoying!!!
bring it back! i know its a few clicks away but its annoying as ****.
Dear Outlook Team: thanks for your note on 'known issue'. But please, you don't need to fix/workaround for a non-existent issue in the first place.
All you need to do, is to restore the old interface.
Made the sort feature super clunky, and clicky. Please revery this back, or provide some explanation as to the user benefits for the change.

What were you thinking Microsoft? As my grandfather used to say, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Luckily my other computers have not updated yet and I will NOT accept any more updates until this typical MS nonsense is reversed. I will also inform all my other coworkers not to update as well.
Please put it back.
Slows everything down be having to click more times.
I used it lots.........
Please bring back this right click and sort - very useful tool.

I add my vote for bringing back the old interface where you could easily filter between the views with just a click. Much more intuitive for non-advanced users and quicker in general for everyone.
If we could customise the bar with a couple of sort that would be great. I toggle "from" and "date received", the rest I use rarely
