Allow a default reminder time for all Events in Calendar irrespective of whether they are of fixed duration or all day events which was possible in previous versions of Outlook.

I would like for outlook to either:
Allow accepting the reminder value sent by the organizer
-OR-
Allow me to set default reminder for "all day" appointments and/or meetings which are sent to me, default to "none". -

Agree with "E"s comment submitted on Sept 11, 2019 @ 11:07 AM.
Allow users to determine when they want to be notified without having to manually adjust the reminder time for each event or appointment. Particularly useful for events or appointments where the organizer has set no reminder time. Ideally user would be able to set a different default time for fixed duration meetings and all day events.

We should be able to set a default time for reminders on all day events just like we can for individual appointments

I would like to see the option to choose the reminder time of 9:00am for all day events. This can be done in the mobile app, but not on the desktop/laptop version. Therefore there is also a discrepancy between reminders on phones and computers.

15 minutes is too much time. I'm busy and I often forget meetings because the reminder was 15 minutes ago and my attention is back on work by then. Very useless. Why in the world does the meeting leader get to choose when to remind people?? So dumb. Please change it so I can pick when to be reminded because I prefer 0 minutes.

When is Microsoft finally FIX this? (why did they change it in the first place?!) Not being able to set the default reminder time for all new appointments is really, REALLY annoying! It is so time consuming adding 10-20 new appointments to my calendar every day and having to manually set the reminder to 18 hours. It's ridiculous - when will this be fixed?!

The global default reminder time should be 1 hour or longer for a default install of outlook or outlook web.
A 15 minute reminder is too short and a large percentage of users do not have Outlook on their cell phone.
I have to reset the reminder for each meeting request I receive to avoid this.
In order to hook up Outlook to my cell phone, my employer requires virus scanning and remote administration to be installed on my personal cell phone. Privacy violation.
There must be tens of thousands of missed meetings due to the overly short reminder time.

Its been four years why hasn't this been addressed? We get 6am notifications for birthdays from the birthday calendar. We are able to adjust default reminder times for NONALLDAY events, why not simply allow for this for all day ones too? Please handle this is really cumbersome.

Yes please. It is annoying not being able to set a more suitable default than18 hours.

Currently, when you set an event for All day in Outlook client (e.g. Outlook 2016), the default value of the reminder is set to 18 hr. or 0.5 day.
So, we would like you to implement a feature that can change the default value setting in advance. -

Please:
Configurable default reminder for all day appointment, just like it's configurable for specific time appointments.

An Outlook appointment should be able to be sent with the Reminder of None, and pass None through to the recipients. Having None function more like a Null option is a confusing experience, and instead it'll default to whatever the Outlook's reminder time is set in the options - which is 15 minutes normally.

How many times have you woken up the day before your well-deserved vacation at 06:00? This 18 hour non-sense has hounted me for years. Just please make it go away. If I book something big enough to earn "all-day" status, I'm pretty sure that I will remember it without the 18-hour devilish default reminder.

Had the oddest problem where every once in a while new appointments were being sent with 18 hour reminder and Show as was Free. Finally figured out it was because I started the appointment in calendar view, then revised the length to be an hour or two - but totally missed the reminder and show as default settings.
Led to chaos because the meetings were accepted, but didn't show up in attendee calendars because the time was Free.
Now I found this page and others and see this has been a know problem for close to a decade. Sheesh, fix it already MS. I shouldn't have to change the default every time I create a new meeting in calendar view. This should be a user defined default.

Jesus Christ Almighty, I finally figured out why my iPhone awakens me at 6:00am. For the love of God please change the default reminder for all day events to 12 hours before or--even better--allow options for doing so. The person who designed this function is either sadistic, demented, or likely both. Thank you.

As stated in other posts, am not able to set the calendar default reminder despite following instructions to go to File>Options>Calendar>and settting default reminder time. The reminder time STILL comes up at 18 hours when adding calendar appointments. Please fix this feature.
