Option to make Unread emails more visible in Microsoft Outlook 2016
An option to make the unread emails stand out more in Microsoft Outlook 2016 as it would make it easy to distinguish between Read and Unread emails.
agree its so hard to tell what is read and unread as its too similar, was hoping there was a fix for this

Sometimes people like to temporarily leave read emails in the in box. I would like to see the following modification to the in box of all accounts.
Modify the in box count to show a count for both read and unread emails in the in box. For example if there are 3 emails in the in box two of which are unread then I would like to see the in box show (2) in red for unread emails in the in box and next to it (1) in green for the read email in the in box.
agree - every other line should be shaded differently

i want that mail icon back on the left side too
I HATE the new layout!!! The former layout was so much better in drawing my attention. Why in the world did you decide to come up with a faded blue format???
new version too hard to define between read and unread,
Fully agree !! and yes, you can modify the font size etc... but this should have been standard !!
also the message you are currently viewing in preview isn't clearly highlighted. Tried different themes, but everywhere the same.
Don't like the new layout AT ALL !
J, I agree with you!!! I'm with the same difficult.

You can go to View tab > View Settings > Conditional Formatting to change the font, font size, and color for unread messages.
I switched from Outlook 2010 to Outlook 2016 and am having a very difficult time clearly differentiating between read and unread items in my outlook mail pane. In 2010 it was very apparent which emails I had unread. in 2016 I struggle a bit, and this may be because I am color blind. Therefore, I'd like to request a color blind theme option to Outlook 2016.
