Adjust Outlook performance to handle super-delegate scenarios
Microsoft states that it has not tested delegate scenarios beyond a 1 to 4 ratio of delegate to managers, also known as the super-delegate scenario. Some guidance is provided on ways to handle super-delegate scenarios in this TechNet Blog post:
Unfortunately, this post does not go far enough towards addressing a need to scale to larger delegate scenarios (think 1 to 40 or greater) and the performance hit to Outlook synchronization that is seen as the ratio increases.
In a super-delegate scenario, the delegate (or team of delegates) opening a manager’s mailbox will change day-to-day and as a result the Outlook sync takes a very long time to complete – sometimes minutes, sometimes hours depending on the last time a delegate may have last opened a specific manager's mailbox. As a result, the time to close incidents or requests by a manager to a delegate is prolonged and delays the ability to obtain business critical information. In some cases a delegate would need to follow-up sometime later with the manager after mail has synchronized.
Please consider addressing the need of Enterprise-level companies to leverage these larger super-delegate scenarios and the poor synchronization performance seen within the Outlook client as a result.

E.g. have a "Assign Co-Organiser" option if the original organiser is unavailable. This would allow other attendees to rearrange locations, times, etc.

When delegated to a mailbox of my manager the status of read/unread changes when I open an email both in my view as his view accross all devices(laptop/mobile app). There is a big risk that I mark something read while my manager didn't read that email.
Can we change this behaviour?Solution: make the read/unread status depending on the user/view.

I'd like to give a person the ability to send email on my behalf but not have read access.

Provide the ability to delegate management on a per-meeting basis instead of on a full calendar basis

Within our org there is a growing need for Outlook-first experiences particularly among users who have delegated access to certain accounts which the current state of Addin's does not allow, at least in a specified granular fashion - i.e. only calendar access; not email access which is common for the organisation. There's been almost two years of promising this functionality and given older plugins are capable of it (but are being deprecated) it only makes sense that the feature set be like for like.

In the past Microsoft products allowed you to drag an email from the email box onto a calendar in which I had delegate rights to and send the apt from the delegates calendar. In Office 365 you can only drag an email to your own calendar. This was an important feature as supporting multiple people I don't want all the appointments I schedule to appear on my calendar. By them all appearing on my calendar the person the meeting is for can not make any changes to their own appt as well as I appear busy all the time. This feature saves time in not having to retype everything in the appointment, keeps calendars accurate and allows the person having the meeting make any changes they need to.

Provide video tutorial/instructions on the differences and how to use them to ensure people are not inadvertently sharing sensitive information when allowing a delegate access to their mail.

It would be very useful to be able to delegate the ownership of a meeting created.

When I schedule an appointment for someone else, as a delegate there is no way for me to notify calendar owner other than sending an invite. I think there should just be a brief notification that an appt. was added.

Delegate access to mail folders based on calendar or tasks.

There should be an easy way to delegate an appointment to a Coworker.
For example if I have an appointment and I can't do it, I want an button "delegate Appointment" so I type the mail of a coworker and send him this appointment. Then he gets an e-mail and is able to click "accept/decline". If he accepts, the appointment moves from my kalender to his. -

Manager and delegate should receive meeting requests.
Only delegate should receive responses to meetings (accept/decline/tentative messages). -

When trying to delegate a task that is not in the task folder, there is an error message that the task will not be updated unless moved back to the default folder.
This is annoying as when managing different projects, shared folders need to be create specifically for each project, and tasks be assigned from these folders -

My need is a bit different. I'm a deligate to only 1 boss. But Office 2016 hinders my ability to SEARCH on my boss' Outlook, Inbox, Sentbox, Contacts. I search ALL THE TIME, and have tried everything I can to help him out, but can't. This used to work in Previous Microsoft versions. 2016 has ruined it, and I waste so much time LOOKING for things, since my searching on HIS docs is impossible!

When starting outlook, it takes a long time to start. Even with good hardware. Can you make outlook startup quickly, so that when you need to quickly send an email its ready for you.

Enable fast exit from outlook
Make it easier to quit outlook by having a setting to not prompt to "save changes" for open meeting windows. These are really just windows left open after attending a meeting, but Outlook doesn't allow quitting without closing each individually - even when you select "close all windows" -

I agree with the need to support and handle super-delegate scenarios better. I would like to see synchronization become more efficient and take less time to complete for Enterprise-level customers. This would be a value add for all.
