Copy the color category from calendar to To-Do Bar for All Day Events and assign a color category to meetings, tasks & events
Option to assign a color category to calendar appointments, tasks and emails for specific projects including emails to yourself in Microsoft Outlook 2016 for efficient email management and handling.
Also, copy the color category from calendar to To-Do Bar for All Day Events

Thank you for the feedback! We are working on an update to show category color for All Day events in the Calendar To-Do Bar.

Our business campus is 4 buildings on two sides of the highway that requires a shuttle trip. If my meetings could be color coded by building then people would see when they were trying to set up an unrealistic meeting request due to location and travel time. We have several thousand employees who deal with this problem. It could be an enterprise level setting perhaps.

I want to be able to color code events and appointments as I was able to do in Windows 7.

Please do add some feature for "All Day" events to get an assigned color and reflect in "To Do List".

It is very strange that the coloring of a whole day event is not avaible in the To-Do list. A whole day should not be less important then part of a day I think. Why is this removed in this version. It must be put in again so we can work properly and not miss any importent meeting.

I'm a project manager and use Outlook groups as reporting listserves. For example, communicating the status of launching new products. I send out weekly reporting to the group and it makes it easy for people to opt in or out of status reporting. I also use calendars to visualize timelines and resources (for example UAT resource availability). In my Outlook instance I can create an all day calendar invite and color code it. The calendar option within the group, however, does not provide an option to color code the meeting invite.

I concur with Amber's comments - Currently on the To-Do bar in the email view, the color of a calendar item will only display if there is a set time for the event. For all day events, the color on the To-Do bar only shows as a standard grey even if that item has an assigned color category on the calendar view. It would be amazing if the color on the To-Do Bar would match what is on the calendar for ALL events (even all day events).

I copied in an old calendar item and I was able to set colors and categories. However I can't do that on new calendar items. We need color coding. desperately!!!!!

Nothing seems to be in order in this edition. I used to have color coded categories in my old Outlook and with this edition even the lists under categories are not in their proper place. Hate this version unless I'm doing everything incorrectly.

Definitely need to be able to color code appointments/meetings in MS Office 365 (version 1708 is my present version). This was easy in the regular MS Outlook app but with Office 365, that option went away. It does not make any sense at all to have removed the color "Categories"

Allow tags for Calendar Items
I'd love to see tags for calendar items. This would allow to color-format the calendar based on tags. Currently I just put the tags in the subject of the appointment but this looks kind of weird. -

having the ability to create custom colors is ideal as some like dark colors and others want light... for EA's that support multiple people in administration this is ideal

As secretary I have to administrate often more than 6-7 calendars. The pastel Colors make it impossible to properly distinguish the Colors from each other. This is true especially when a day/time period is marked as "absent".

These standard calendar colors are pastel colors and too weak. I want strong colors. There is no other choice. Do not know what I have to do, so I have other "standard calender colors" to choose from.
Have 4 calendars in Outlook. One per family member. And each calendar can be assigned a color from the "standard calender colors" with the right mouse button. The given "standard calender colors" are too weak and very difficult to distinguish, so I would like to have strong colors to choose from.
How can I change this?

If you assign a category to an email you should be able to see that color in the email listing. It would be easier to locate specific assigned email.

Previous versions of Outlook Calendar had a drop down with about 15 color choices to use to categorize appointments. This appears to be gone in Outlook 2016. I was told by a customer service rep that this was a new "feature" in Outlook Calendar. Why confuse us with color choices?

Most annoying is that I can assign colour to some appointments but not all. This is a big step backwards from Windows 7.

I would like to print out the calendar with the categorized colors. It shows the colors on the screen but not on the paper. Before it was possible to do that. I want it back !!!!!
