Option of Follow up for an email in Microsoft Outlook 2016 for IMAP Account
Currently it is only possible to flag a message for follow-up in a POP account and not in an IMAP account. In an IMAP account you can only flag an email without any date . Allow IMAP messages to be flagged for follow-up with a date and custom flag. Also option to FOLLOW UP EMAILS at point of sending and NOT after email has been sent, having to go into the send folder, too long and tedious.
This should be available in multiple channels - find a way to have a follw up appointment show up on the calendar pointing back to original content from EMAIL or Appointment

This used to work in Outlook 2010. Why would you take functionality away when upgrading?

This feature should be in IMAP too. I used this quite often in the past and now and not able to.

I agree that this should be a feature in IMAP as well as other types of account. I frequently want to do this and am frustrated each time.
It's crazy that Microsoft does not have this feature across all account types. Come on Microsoft??

It's a good option and is quite helpful. I vote to include it for user friendliness and convenience.
I think it would be a good idea if a follow-up DATE could be assigned to a flagged IMAP item.
I see this has been suggested before, but I want to add to the sense of importance of this idea. Are ideas ever acted on by Microsoft?
I am somewhat perplexed why a great feature like creating a task with an email would be dropped - please bring it back in IMAP.
I thought paying into 365 would get me more functionality, not less. I was always able to flag emails for follow up and add as specific date with time reminders. No longer possible now with IMAP - Why?
I keep Focus Assist on, set to priority only. However, I want to act immediately on any response to an email thread by enabling notification (perhaps flagging as priority) when anyone replies to this email thread.
This is to include threads started by others, and even those I have not replied to.
I don't want this to affect anyone else on the thread.
I want to right click (and/or set my own quick action) to quickly "Override Focus Assist"
Many emails require a follow up and thus the easiest way to do so is to set a reminder, this process needs to have many more specific options such as: "Remind me again in X minutes or X hours." The function to do so needs to also be a much faster option. The "quick click" option would suffice but does not provide enough specificity to accomplish this task in a meaningful way.

I just found this out and agree that it makes no sense to allow it on POP and Exchange accounts, but not IMAP. Please make it that IMAP can set reminders on follow up flags.

Hey Mictosoft, why are we going back to the dark ages???? No more ability to flag/date an email for followup, are you kidding me? It used to work fine on my local Outlook version, maybe your programmers can't handle the Cloud, and we all need to go back to earlier versions.

I just completed an extensive period of time (many days) troubleshooting the use of Categories with IMAP accounts. They are now able to duplicate a blocking behavior which was occurring and are proceeding to work toward a solution. We were using a new (apparently trial) feature for following a problem dialog over a period of days with starts and stops, which I found very useful and promising for all of us. I think we will see this IMAP feature support resolved in an upcoming release.
This feature should be a standard feature for all wether on pop or IMAP, after all it is a subscribed package that i have purchased and this feature is quite crucial to our business.
It should be promptly looked into, otherwise you will start losing annual subscription

This would create an easy way to write an email and then schedule a date and time to come back and send it.
The only reason I payed for Office 365 was to manage my emails with Outlook. Adding a follow up reminder is critical! Please add this to IMAP accounts. Had I known this was an issue, I would have loaded up an older version of office!

I agree, please re-enable the full Follow Up features for IMAP accounts. It is a critical tool in process management.
Hi, how about re-enabling the rt click option to enable follow ups with dates to items in IMAP folders, like it used to work?
