Please add tethered sync between Outlook Desktop and universal Outlook to save on mobile data plans
Please add tethered sync between Outlook Desktop and universal mobile phone Outlook to save on mobile data plans. Similar functionality used to exist with the Windows Mobile Device Center. This functionality would save on mobile data plans.

Improved synchronisation between Mobile App, Desktop site, and tablet / computer app. Especially regarding deleted items and folders, deleting items on platform never seems to carry across on the others and creating a folder on one platform also fails to register on the others. This can be astonishingly frustrating at the best of times.

Win Mobile 6.5 could do this via USB while trickle charging the phone: sync outlook contacts, calendar, tasks, notes, last 30 days of email from selected Outlook mail folders, and copy files from selected desktop HDD folders to the SD card on the phone. We want this functionality back without needing internet / cloud / Exchange. Just a cable.

I've been asking for this since Windows Phone 7 was introduced. I don't EVER want my business Contacts (what you now call "People") exposed in the cloud. Under Windows Mobile I just plugged my phone to my PC via USB cable and I had the most current data in both devices.
I've tried your new method, creating an additional database on my Microsoft account, then downloading the add-in for Outlook on my desktop and copying ALL my Contacts to a new folder. The result is that neither the cloud, nor the phone has the File As field so all my contacts are not sorted, and a lot of data is lost.
This is an incredible move backwards, and it is now more than five years that you haven't restored the capability. Not even in Windows Mobile 10.
