Use HTML format for answer and forward emails automatically
It would be very useful, to choose the option, to send answered and forwarded emails in HTML format by default.

Or auto switch if response contains rich text/HTML?

I agree! I have to set to html and reinput my signature (starts in plain text) every time I respond to an email.

I agree, this is a huge pain. I frequently receive plain text emails from external users, and when I hit reply, it uses a plain text signature which doesn't have any formatting/logos (obviously - its plain text). I have to 1) Pop-Out the reply to expose the ribbon, 2) select Format Text tab in the Ribbon, 3) Select HTML, 4) select and delete the plain text signature, 5) return to Message tab on Ribbon, and finally 6) Insert html signature. 6 Steps!?! It should be possible to force all replies to be in HTML.

There should be an option to format message as html code. I.g. if you want to send a message in your particular HTML format (e.g. Newsletter etc). Basically we need an option for HTML editor for message composer.
Such feature exist only in Mozilla Seamonkey message editor, i.e. "insert HTML code" and then it renders it as rich text. I wanted similar feature in Outlook for ages. The only workaround was -> compose message in Mozilla inserting plain HTML code, save as draft in IMAP, then open in Outlook. But this is pain and imap no longer supported by our organisation...
Even if the incoming email format is plain text, rich text or html, i would like my reply all emails with html format.
It would be helpful for user to have an option in reply email tool bar to convert Rich Text or Plan Text email to HTML.

I would like my emails to always be in HTML format. For x reasons I do not understand, the mails are in TXT format. Especially when the application is open from Windows Explorer by sending a file as an attachment.

I can only add a shortcut for "Format as HMTL" to the top of the pop out window for a forwarded email. I can't get the "Format as HMTL" option on the email by replying if it stays in outlook itself. This should be able to be added as a shortcut at the very least up top of the main view if not in the message tab created when you forward or reply.
Way too many steps to do it manually.
Format text option should be on the home tab.

I totally agree. There are third party add ons and VBA scripts you can use to accomplish this but it shouldn't be needed. Enabling this in Outlook should just be an option.
I agree wholeheartedly. My email signature requires html to look nice. Unfortunately, a large number of people are still sending emails in plain text and a reply to such an email remains in plain text forcing me to go thru multiple clicks to change the format of my reply to html and then reinsert my signature. It's a PITA. Please allow us to default our replies and forwards to html. Thx.
Add an option to Outlook which forces all email Replies to be in HTML.
It's such a time waster to have to Reply, Pop out, change HTML, delete signature, reinsert signature.
I just thought it would be a nice idea if Outlook could display HTML emails instead of the red "X"s all over the place.

I strongly support this action.
I seem to spend a disproportionate amount of time adjusting the reply format and reinserting my signature.
Vote 1 for default reply format.
