Multiple choices of colors, background and themes like black theme in Desktop Outlook 2016
Multiple choice of colors and themes like black theme in Desktop Outlook 2016. Also provide an option of feature to reduce too much white space used in Microsoft Outlook. The new outlook is very complicated. Unfortunately I was forced to upgrade to outlook 2016 and Windows 10, otherwise I would have kept the old version of outlook. Microsoft need to consider people feedback and make material changes to outlook in order for users to be able to use it in the most efficient way. Right now, I am finding difficulties in using this outlook. Outlook should be more colorful like the old version so users can distinguish between mailbox, folders, junk, recycle…etc. Users should be able to easily find folders and folders with new version of outlook, just like old version. New version is all white and gray and doesn’t allow users to easily find required options. Also layout should be more efficient and unnecessary options must be removed. It’s important for Microsoft to understand that outlook is used for business purpose and users with high volume of work/tasks will not be able to easily coop with their work using a complicated outlook. Outlook layout look very busy and they are so many options. Bring old version back. It was easier to work and handle emails. Also an option to match color schemes or themes with an organization’s color themes would enhance customization.
yes I agree with JohnR- my 100's of clients which used to run MS Outlook 2010 have all disliked being upgraded from MS Outlook 2010 to a newer version of Outlook due to interface changes. Too much white, too little customisation, too few colour options. The new versions are just too painful for the eyes!
Microsoft Developers have really lost the plot.
Bring Back Office 2010 !
It was the best Office EVER !!!
Current colors are inflexible, hard to see and painful for eyes. We need more flexibility in choices.
Well I now have a choice in Outlook of going snow blind with all the white or becoming depressed with the grey or black. Where is the colour

in addition to the 4 theme options being insufficient, the thickness of the border on the frames/panes is unnecessarily too wide.
Hate the new office 365 bring back old themes too complicated to use
Outlook 2016 is the worst ever. Cant find options, change themes what a joke, tiring on the eyes...goes on and on.
diiferent themes like one provided by Gmail
Again, I will Comment on the geekheads not responding to our requests. This seems to be the norm for Moderators...they went to "Moderator School" for this MO. Simply read what we submit and igonore...no response...is the word of the day.
This is evident with the Moderators at Star Advertiser (newspaper)...yes these so called journalist / Moderators still exist. Then there's Amazon...they can do what they want to censure any review...with no ability to contest a censure of a review. What happened to Bezo's and his "consumer centric" mantra? Then there's Microsoft...anyone?
The control has on just stifling.
May I quote the following comment:
... "Black" looks like a high contrast theme for the visually impaired
... "White" is too bright and strains my eyes after a few hours
... "Colorful" isn't colorful. It's just the white theme with a colored header
... "Dark Grey" is drab and depressing... like a cold, dark, winter day
Can a moderator please combine the following suggestions and reflect the count accordingly? (all about colours and contrasts)
This should add another 1,000 votes to this "suggestion" which is actually a complaint. Thanks.
Very good Comment. Unfortunately those of us in the business world who utilize the newer version of Outlook will have to endure the vague attempts of these geek heads. They simple lack the philosophy of being Consumer Centric. I firmly believe they read our comments and hunker down in their little shells and ignore who they should be servicing. By the way, there was an attempt to add some color to the color palette in recent update(s). But not enough. I wonder if these geek heads work amongst themselves or do they attempt to work with customers, i.e. a Customer Focus Panel of real people.

Agree 100% as does everyone I've talked to in my firm that recently switched over to this new format --- it is simply terrible trying to use as the contrast is so bad it is hard to find folders, emails etc. As a result, this was a net downgrade IMHO over the last version!
I absolutely HATE the blue in outlook... can i change this somehow??? colorful is hardly colorful. yuck. and grey black or white!?? seriously??
How about some real colours and themes please!!!!!!!!!
Need to add a Colorful theme with the Black and Dark Gray themes which means that the upper Title Bar and the Left Side Bar when selecting file menu to be colored (Blue in Outlook, Green in Excel, etc) since the rest of the interface theme is Black or Dark Gray based on the theme selection.

(1) There's no way to tell the difference between read and unread emails in Outlook 365.
(2) The colourful scheme / theme is still way too bright and the Dark Grey is just too dark. Is there something in between?!
(3) It would be nice if Microsoft stop following Apple in making everything white and dull blues & greys.
I might just have to upgrade my spectacles to filter all this rubbish out...

A dark theme where the apps are colorful just like the normal colorful theme
The colors and design are so unpleasant to look at. It is also difficult to even be able to tell what they represent; even with my glasses on. All we are asking for is the ability to change to something that WE like and that WE find acceptable. Customer satisfaction should be your number one priority.

Outlook for work needs better options for theme colors and brightness; white & blue and black & gray are ******* the eyes. Preferably some earth tones with neutral brightness.

I got the latest update of outlook 365 proplus and I can't change the colour scheme from white to dark grey - it is very annoying.
The white is the worst it is annoying my eyes very much.
IRT: Stewart Joseph. I went with Office 365 when I upgraded to Windows 10. I did the upgrade to Windows 10 so I could get a scanning software (Nuance Paperport) to work properly. I also liked the filing system in Outlook 2016 so I ended up with Office 365. Office 365 was sold under the premise that Office 2007 will become a legacy product.
1) Could I still use my Office 2007 with Windows 10 and not have to worry about the legacy issue? If this will eventually happen...
2) Could I switch to Goggle Apps that could provide an effective alternative to Outlook 2016 as well as a word processing and spreadsheet alternative.
If successful I could then cancel my subscription to Office365.
By the way, MS did provide a "smidgen" of color to a recent update. I wish they would have told us versus just taking liberties with their clientele. Where's "Consumer Centric" ...or it just a Jeff Bezos deal?
