High DPI support for inline images when creating and reading email
While text is scaled properly when reading or writing email in Outlook, inline images are not. Inline images within a message sent from a PC with 100% display scaling will appear too small when viewed on a PC with 200% display scaling, such as on the Surface Book. Conversely, images within a message sent from a PC with 200% display scaling will appear huge when viewed on a PC with 100% display scaling. Also as users have 4k screen and when they “Open in new window” to open a secondary window, such as a calendar the new window opens as a small window in the top left quarter of the screen. It seems that the new window size is a fixed number suitable for a 1k screen when it should be adaptive to the screen size.
This is especially a problem when inline images are screen shots and text is part of the image. This results in text being either too small to read or unnecessarily large.
This is not a problem when viewing the same email through a web mail interface because the browser (Chrome) handles scaling properly. Can Outlook 2016 act more like Chrome in this regard?

Bug with display scaling on add-ins when using monitors with different display scaling, meaning that on normal scale monitors means that the add-in is magnified by the ratio of the high dpi monitor

Hi,
As the new monitors with aspect ratio of 21:9 and 32:9 are becoming very productive to use Office 365 tools like MS Outlook Desktop with multiple panes, it definitely needs correct configuration along with Windows 10 Display Settings.Right now the fonts are too small or too big (if 125% is set in widows display settings) defeating the purpose of wide monitors.

Custom scaling (107%) was working fine on Monthly Channel 1907 and before. In 1908/1909 some text e.g. Status bar and Contact Online Status are disproportionately big and not fully visible. Please fix custom scaling!

I contacted support and Kakir, suggested deleting the Frame, and if it exists the Namespace, values under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Office Explorer
I found the Frame entry in the registry as suggested and deleting this only reset the default start-up location of the main Outlook window and did *not* change the size of the secondary "Open new window" windows.
This is an annoying “feature” that that needs to be fixed as it basically renders the "Open in new window" useless on 4k screens as the user must resize the window to use it. Please make a change so that the opening size adapts to the window size. This need only happen the first time the "Open in new window" feature is used after the “defaults” are set in registry these values can be used in the future. -

When I connect laptop with Win10 and Office 2016 to external monitor Outlook, Skype and other MS programs text get blur, hard to read. I have to always close all my work and sign off/on to restore convenient set-up to be able to read. I have to repeat this action several times a day.

Fix the bug. I have an HP Pro X2 connected to two 23" external monitors. To get the best readability on my notebook I have set the display scale to 125%. Due to the well known fuzzy font problem in Outlook I have followed the recommended fix for this by setting all my screens to scale to 125%. And to be honest this improves the readability across the whole setup.
Now for the bug. With this configuration when I edit an Outlook contact I cannot see the bottom part of the contact form (ie. the lower part of the address). I cannot adjust the size of this box and I cannot scroll inside this box. So I am stuck with a limited view of my contact unless I rescale all of my display settings.

As of 1804 (9213.2031) HighDPI works perfectly on Visio. All I need is Outlook and the cycle is complete. Screen scaling works!

I have 2 monitors, 1 1080p and the other 4K (2160p) @150% Screen Scaling. 100% Scale screen is my default monitor and thus Outlook launches at 100% scale and looks good. But then gets fuzzy when I drag to the 150% scaled screen. I joined office insider, and this issue is fixed on Word, excel, and powerpoint. Just need my Outlook and Visio and I will be in heaven!!!! I'm running Office 1804 (9208.2010 Click-to-Run)

Auto-scale images to fit page orientation. Many inline images get clipped off, even when selecting wide orientation. Images should automatically down-size to fit the prinatble page size. Currently the fastest way is to do a few clicks and open in IE. This method looses the header info from the most recent email, rendering the conversation data incomplete. Keywords: Resize, Printing, Pictures, Photos, Images, Scale, Fit.

We need a way to FIT TO PRINT when trying to print emails with inline images that are wide. Default behavior should be auto-scale-down on images to fit the orientation of the page (wide or tall), rather than clip it off entirely.

When using a Surface pro 4 with external displays, the My Analytics panel is incorrectly scaled and unusable. Moving the Outlook window to the Surface display does not correct the issue.

Wunderlist add-in side bar displays at some crazy big resolution when I have my surface book 2 display set to 200% scaling and my external display set to 100%. outlook 2016 is on the external display

Outlook 2016 has a flickering problem on 4k screens. The fix is to turn ON Hardware acceleration in Advanced settings. This was discovered on a Surface Studio i7

Windows 10 supports a setup with multiple displays having different scaling settings (eg 100% on one and 150% on the other). Most apps very nicely dynamically switch their scaling settings when dragged from one screen to the next.
No office app does. One one of the screens the app will always look fuzzy. Please add support to swith dynamically.

We use Outlook a lot being in the corporate world. I am a software developer and we often deal with sensitive and secure information.
When we send any screenshot with sensitive or secure information over email, we need to mask it for security purpose and to meet the obligations of standards. It is now so difficult with Outlook As do not have better image edit options. All that we can do it crop and some basics.
I would love to see better image edit options in MS-OUTLOOK and MS-WORD. Like mask/ hide a certain sensitive and secure data on the image (usually screenshot) based on user selection (mouse selection of the area to be masked and making that making permanent upon sending the email or saving the MSword document to ensure security. The recipient should not be allowed to unhide and view the sensitive info once the email is sent or the document is saved after edit (When the user hits Ctrl +S or save and close the document) ).
This will immensely help many corporate users of MS-Office and Outlook. With the current version of MSword/ Outlook, we do not have a facility to mask data directly and we depend on MSPaint to mask the data and paste it to MSword/ Outlook. This takes a lot of time and not pleasant. Usability of this product is affected because we do not have better image edit option in MSword and Outlook.

Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, etc - none of them support high DPI to low DPI transitioning over a surface dock, etc. I worked with WDG to debug the surface dock only to find the issue is specific to Office apps. They've said this is an "Office Issue" that needs to be fixed. I have a long email thread with WDG on this from a closed feedback item - please contact me and I'll fwd the thread. This is a really poopy experience for users and seems to be in someones blind sport here - I want to try and connect the dots if possible because this is a pretty bad user experience (it makes you think your vision sucks as a user because all of office is blurry)

0. Use a high dpi device (SP4, etc)
1. Press Windows + Shift + S (to capture a onenote screenshot)
2. Now paste this into outlook or wordThe image is now 200% - I would expect it to scale down to 100% instead of being massive.
It's hard to tell if this a OneNote or Outlook/Word issue but it's kind of annoying as I do a lot of screenshot captures on my device.
