Option to reduce the symbol of attachments
Hide information about attachment size in message view and reduce size of the icon attachment, so that only one line is consumed (like in older versions of outlook). This could be incorporated in the minimal header feature.
This is not a place to provide Feedback. I honestly don't think it is humanely monitored ...ever. This is just a third-party, ad-targeting sponsored ("upgrade to Grammarly Premium" ...anyone?) rant-venting place (at least since Feb 2016) rent out by MS to make you feel like they care, without having to listen to our "silly ideas". I mean seriously? with 488 votes and 142 comments, no one in MS will give a ****.
I just upgraded to the Office 360, and the attachment icon is the 1st thing I notice! Its is so annoying when I need to view the content below, not the big useless extra- large size icon! taking up 1/3 of the top viewing panel. But then I found it more ridiculous when searching for the solution; over 140 comments here, spanning several years, and still no fix! Didn't I see the message from MS saying "please report the issue. Your input is importance to us" ? Really! so importance?
has this seriously been going on for 5 years?? I upgraded a few months ago, noticed the problem, and today finally got around to researching how to reduce the size of the icons. The first message board thread I cam across had a response indicating there was no solution, but I noticed the thread was five years old, so, relieved, I continued to search for a more recent thread, and noticed it's still not addressed. LOL 5 years of this nonsense!!???!?

And also add an option to have the list attachments on the right side of the view window
This is very annoying!! The screen is already small, we don't need the attachments symbols to be that big that it's taking away space on the screen to read the actual email body. Microsoft please fix this ASAP!!
why is Microsoft not responding to this? such big icons are ridiculous.
With more than 4 attachments, the message view size is reduced to 3 fingers big. How ridiculous is that?

Yes -- please switch back to the earlier versions, where the icons of the attachments were smaller in size. Our office laptop screens are already quite small, we don't want to further reduce the actual message view size.
Because the incoming attachments take up so much room at the top of the screen, it leaves a small space to view your message. Can the attachments be shown smaller, like thumbnails, or show on the side or bottom of the message?
Yes yes yes - stop the waste of space in favour of relevant information and exchange the oversized design approach with a redesign in favour of a functional and ergonomical design (which is usefull on Desktop working)

rotate and reduce size of attachment for printing

Of all the downgrades in user experience that have come with Outlook 2016 and 2019 via Office 365, the massive 2-line attachment boxes for each individual email have been the most debilitating for most of us normal users of Outlook who occasionally and in most cases frequently receive multiple attachments in a single email. It's by far the most inexplicable and frustrating of the issues in the current Outlook version.
Even after opening an email in a dedicated window and maximizing it on screen, we now see an even smaller number of attachments in the attachment window and it's truly a much more time consuming, frustrating experience scrolling through a small attachment window filled with massive, 2-line boxes per attachment for each email.
What had been a less than optimized way to see the attachment file list in prior versions of Outlook, the challenge is now so much worse.
The only workaround that provides any relief is to select all attachments and copy to a drive where they can be viewed in File Explorer. Why in the world should users have to do this just to survive a multi-attachment email review?
Microsoft, it really shouldn't be so difficult to realize the change to the massive attachment presentation is a productivity killer. At the very least you should provide an option to view the attachment list in single line mode to mitigate this horrible problem.
And if you want to improve on previous Outlook versions beyond merely backtracking on the recent mistake of the massive 2-line attachment box, give us a way to expand the attachment list window (in single line attachment mode, of course), or better yet, give users an option to set the default attachment list window to a user-selected number of lines or an all-attachments displayed window. Easy stuff for any competent programmer to do.
Please fix this horrible user interface problem and consider making these simple design improvements to help your customers, not make them wish for a different email platform. I'd also suggest you conduct some comprehensive focus group research with real Office users before implementing further product user interface downgrades.
It's unconscionable that a rational human with a shred of GUI design aptitude would think this horrendous change and massive downgrade of the user experience would actually be an improvement. And shame on all the reviewers who allowed such a stupid idea to be implemented. Perhaps microsoft has no QA/QC. It's absolutely clear they do absolutely no customer testing before rolling out such garbage.
Let's pray hard that a replacement for Office rapidly takes market share and forces MS to dedicate competent resources to its product design and actually solicits user feedback from other than kindergartners. But by the time market share erodes significantly it will be too late. I will gladly switch out of principle. Fools deserve no reward.
And to think someone got paid to think of this ridiculous idea of having a gigantic icon!!! What a waste of space.
For heaven's sake, Microsoft, people have been complaining about this for years. Please show us how to nix the thumbnail previews!
Oh, for god sake. Fix this LIKE YESTERDAY!!! Microsoft, try and remind yourself of the purpose of outlook, reading emails not 'pretty' presentation of attachments!
Bring back the flexibility and functionality from Outlook 2010 attachments. On 2016:
1 - the icon size is ridiculous
2 - not displaying the full name is incomprehensible
3 - not being able to use Ctrl to partially select multiple attachments is a nightmare
4 – Ctrl+c and Ctrl+x not being available is plain dumb
the new design is unacceptable and a huge step backwords…. as devices are getting smaller and smaller this rubbish is just annoying and stopping us from working efficient. nobody needs this symbols in the attachment line. Please reverse and go back to the usual design... also the Col-ours used in the current design are no good
I CAN'T EVEN. The most horrible design ever. If an email has only a couple of attachments, you cannot see the body of your email. I can't believe this is acceptable to anyone.
Remove the icons completely and just provide a file name. Also give us the option to hide attachments so we can read the actual email. Anything you can do to minimize the header size and focus on the body of the email would be helpful.
